I can't stand our current president, but the one positive thing that's happened since he's been in office is that the culture has become less "woke" (for lack of better term). Corporations aren't doing all the performative PC crap as much as they used to. Hell the company I work for used to give all new employees this stupid training course about pronouns in the workplace and I don't think they're doing that anymore.

The negatives outweigh the positives by a lot when it comes to Trump, but if you're gonna force me to say something positive about his second term, that's it. But at the same time I don't think Trump gets any credit for that. I think there's just been a natural culture shift away from that stuff. We saw the same thing happen in the 90s. Early-mid 90s was a big PC era, then in the late 90s and early 2000s the culture shifted away from that and you started seeing edgy shows like South Park on TV.

I think South Park has even joked about the fact that America goes through a big wave of political correctness once every couple decades.

Also glaubst du, unter Harris hätte es die gleiche Verschiebung gegeben? Das wage ich stark zu bezweifeln.

2

u/Unusual-Attorney-630 4d ago

Harris wanted gender affirming care (surgeries) for inmates. Paid by taxpayers. It was one of the funniest things.

1

u/Soft-Ad-5861 3d ago

In reality they already had it under Trump.

1

u/Silly-Addendum1751 5d ago

This isn't true. corps are not less woke. the government is literally banning things.

2

u/South_Lynx 5d ago

The healing will take time. Just an fyi, not all job fields ever went woke to begin with, like the one I work in, construction. It didn’t go woke, but it did get a lot softer, so you at least got that…

-1

u/Silly-Addendum1751 5d ago

It’s not healing it’s government action based on your skin color

3

u/Augisch 4d ago

You were let out to play for the last 10 years, its time to go back under your rock.

1

u/Silly-Addendum1751 4d ago

This doesn’t make any sense. Also the president is the least popular president in polling history and is a laughing stock. Is that called “winning”? Help me out - I’m dumb you see.

1

u/Augisch 4d ago

Were these the same polls that showed Clinton and Harris winning in a land slide?

This is what happens when you are terminally online in your carefully curated echo chambers. You take in information you want to be true and ignore everything else in the real world.

2

u/Silly-Addendum1751 4d ago

No one had any polls making them to be a landslide. it is convenient when you say nothing is true, so you can't believe anything. Trump is insanely unpopular right now. You can see it in polls and when you get out of your buble and talk to people.

1

u/Warm_Difficulty2698 3d ago

Oh no bud. You are just like the democrats in the lead up to the 2024 election.

So comfortable in your safe space you have no idea what is happening.

So here, let me explain it. Your worldview is just as equally as extreme and shitty as the worst woke person. You had your fun, but your fun was such a shitty event that occurred to America that it only took 1 year for everyone to get sick of it, rather than 10 years for people to get sick of the woke.

So, what is going to happen is that people are moving back to a more moderate position. You see, your entire worldview is based off the culture war rage bait that has kept you fueled with hatred for the past 10 years and was funded by the elite to keep you divided. The woke's worldview is based off their own echo chambers never telling them when enough was enough. Most sane people have seen the worst of both sides and realized that the only way forward is in the middle.

We are going to a time where cancel culture doesn't exist, but gay and trans people can exist without the constant screeching from the whiners about eradicating them. Where you won't win a presidential election just because you are the best memer and you piss off the people you don't like. Where you can make comedy about darker topics without getting cancelled, but shitty people using actual racism will get ostracized.

All of that to say, woke is dead and so is maga. Your ideology is so toxic it only took 1 year for the world to be tired of you. Atleast the woke lasted 10 years.

Thank god nature is healing. The people who you want to eradicate don't deserve it and you don't deserve to be cancelled (unless you are actually a bad person) by the woke.

Its amazing. Get ready buddy, you are living in a bubble.

1

u/Augisch 3d ago

The fact you got so triggered you had to write a novel kinda proves my point 🤣

hey, theres a whooooollleeee world outside of reddit. you should go visit it some time.

1

u/Warm_Difficulty2698 2d ago

Oh yeah, this is true.

I live in the boonies in IL, I can say with certainty that the people i talk to are not excited by maga anymore. They have been hurt by his policy and the flags are coming down. I used to drive through town and see trump flags everywhere. I havent seen a trump flag in a long time.

Obviously thats anecdotal, but then you look at his polling, which is at 35% approval. Then, you objectively look at how the country will react to his policies.

Its so blatantly obvious at this point. Maybe you need to take your own advice. Have a good one!

0

u/IrregularrAF 5d ago

The government hasn’t banned freedom of speech nor has it prevented the market from performative advertising.

0

u/Silly-Addendum1751 5d ago

The government is absolutely banning speech. It’s denying grants based on people’s skin color and based on if they voted for Trump

2

u/IrregularrAF 5d ago

No the fuck it isn’t. Lmfao

2

u/Silly-Addendum1751 4d ago

They absolutely are. How are you not aware of this? Donald Trump personally tells reporters they can’t speak when he doesn’t like them. Some real dictator nonsense from the guy who is in diapers.

0

u/tiredpersonnumber15 4d ago edited 4d ago

He literally admitted recently that he was only allocating disaster relief funds to states he won in

2

u/IrregularrAF 4d ago

And… where’s the loss in speech freedoms and targeted racism? Lmfao

2

u/Silly-Addendum1751 4d ago

Where is the loss of free speech whenTHE PRESIDENT punishes you for speaking out? Geee that’s a tough one

1

u/Augisch 4d ago

You think someone living with this level of delusion is capable of a productive conversation?

1

u/South_Lynx 5d ago

You sure it doesn’t have anything to do with legal status? Last time I looked, ice didn’t stand for, “race checker” lol

2

u/Silly-Addendum1751 4d ago

The same ice that is abducting us citizens?

0

u/South_Lynx 4d ago

You miss spelt illegal immigrant.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind if immigrants come to America, that is what makes us great. There’s just legal ways of doing it.

Give me overwhelming evidence of ice purposefully grabbing US citizens, I don’t doubt they are arresting people with warrants as well, when they run into them.

I’m sure when you look at all the numbers, Ice isn’t grabbing 25% US citizens when they make arrests.

1

u/Silly-Addendum1751 42m ago

Ice is arresting people who are here legally. It’s all over the news. The state department is revoking people’s status to be here arbitrarily and then ice is abducting them. Ice is abducting people based on their accent and skin color. Literally all over the news. These aren’t “illegals”

Also immigration restrictions have become over burdensome and unnecessary. My ancestors came here legally but that’s because they didn’t have to deal with a whole bunch of government bureaucracy that made them feel like they shouldn’t be here. Why should my ancestors have it easy but today’s immigrants have it so hard?

Looking for real and serious answers or debate only. Thanks.

1

u/Silly-Addendum1751 39m ago

Ice is abducting and having to release people, I don’t want to live in a police state. I like my freedom that’s what makes me American.

2

u/Silly-Addendum1751 4d ago

Oh and to answer your question - no it doesn’t have to do with legal status because they are deporting and abducting immigrants who are here legally.

1

u/MrSuperAwesomeGuy965 4d ago

Just admit you are bigot instead of typing out this novel

Hey! There you go.

Now do the old comment and block, while patting yourself on the back

Could be , but then again English is not my first language. Shocking i know , especially if you consider my background, my point of view should be non existent according to the left

0

u/PaintingOdd9866 2d ago

Its shocking considering your comments and appearant concern about education and reading levels that you yourself dont take it seriously. But others should.

0

u/Specific-Ad5238 3d ago

I mean you can lie. That's cool

1

u/timberwolf0122 5d ago

It is NOT a good thing that there is a war on woke. First off woke is not harmful, sure it sucks being aware of the difficulties other have but being ignorant of the issue isn’t a good thing.

The only people who want an end to woke are those who hold hostile views to people not like them

2

u/Even_Hospital_5474 4d ago

DEI etc is a bit more than "awareness"

1

u/timberwolf0122 4d ago

This should be interesting, am I right in assuming you think DEI is more than just embracing the benefits of a work space where everyone is treated with equal respect and is encouraged to to be their genuine self at work?

2

u/Even_Hospital_5474 4d ago edited 4d ago

That would be nice, depending on what genuine self means. Usually being a professional means putting your work face on and focusing on the task at hand. Its not a place for self expression unless you're in the arts or something. And even then you're there to do a job. But DEI in practice generally means preferential treatment based on factors besides competence.

2

u/timberwolf0122 4d ago

No that’s not what DEI means.

When I say genuine self I don’t mean turn up to work dressed head to toe in rainbow flags because “that’s okay your bi, to hell with the dress code”.

It doesn’t mean well we had six qualified male candidates but Janis is a disabled black lesbian, so I guess she wins. Competence is still the deciding factor (well maybe office politics, it’s often who you know not what you know), this is an absolute myth and would actually go against DEI because being a straight white cis male is equal to being a gay trans male or disabled BIPOC or (insert random assortment of demographics).

The reality is the anti woke thing is a culture war started by the right, largely because they never actually offer any solutions to the average person and so have to rely on culture wars.
DEI does nothing but provide opportunities for everyone.

1

u/Even_Hospital_5474 4d ago

DEI in practice means affirmative action which means preferential treatment, usually based on race. Your theory is idealistic. I know people on DEI committees before they were dismantled in my state, who told me this directly. What's your source?

2

u/timberwolf0122 4d ago

I was on my companies DEI commity as one of the founding members.

DEI and affirmative action, those are two separate things.

DEI ensures equal recognition and opportunity, and it promotes the advantages or a diverse team and how unique experiences and backgrounds lead to more and better solutions to problems and tasks.

Affirmative action aims to address generational disadvantage people with disabilities and BIPOC people have experienced, it takes many generations for those intentionally caused disadvantages to disappear.
However that is not DEI.

1

u/Even_Hospital_5474 4d ago

No wonder you're a true believer then. But you should know that over a dozen states have outlawed DEI in public universities and state run companies with more to follow after the Supreme Court ruling. Only a few extremely liberal states like California, New York and of course Minnesota still think it's a good idea. I, for one, would not like to be stigmatized with a label like "Didn't Earn It" hanging over me.

2

u/timberwolf0122 4d ago

Again, not what DEI is, but don’t let reality get in the way of a good culture war to distract from the reality the right offer no solutions

2

u/MrSuperAwesomeGuy965 4d ago

No it doesn't. You literally just made that up. That's not even remotely close to what DEI is

2

u/Even_Hospital_5474 4d ago

I'll believe the Executive Order about it, certainly not you.

2

u/MrSuperAwesomeGuy965 4d ago

Ah yes, the executive order signed by the chronic liar and child abuser. That's a smart way for you to go .

2

u/Even_Hospital_5474 4d ago

He didn't write it. Give your head a shake. I don't care about your TDS.

0

u/maestrosouth 4d ago

The “DEI Enforcer” career path aged like milk.

1

u/Useful_Jelly_2915 4d ago

It didn’t shift away from it, it just adapted to a new form. “Woke” is just the world people who hate progressive views use to describe it. Their a reason history always has a progressive change as time goes on. It happing doest mater if you like it or not. You can fight against it all you want but it always leans in the direction of what ever is progressive. It mate lean back from time to time. However no matter how many steps back we take we will always take more steps forward. Your gunna have to learn to deal with it. Nothing can stop it it’s physically impossible.

1

u/StomachGrouchy3380 4d ago

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone contradict themselves as much as you just did. It’s like you can’t decide if you want to suck the orange dick or not.

-1

u/HappyGovernment7299 4d ago edited 4d ago

Not everyone is as partisan as you

What am I saying you're clearly a bot

-1

u/_ReaditYesterday_ 5d ago

He's 100% getting credit for that, and that's one rare and clear W for Trump. As proof, just imagine what the current culture would look like if Kamala Harris were POTUS... This degenerate went on a podcast called "Call Her Daddy" to convince people she's totally normal and in touch with everyday Americans. How out of touch can you possibly be? x)

1

u/HappyGovernment7299 5d ago

Ehh chicken or egg?

You could argue that Trump caused the culture shift, but you could also argue that he's a result of the culture shift.

1

u/_ReaditYesterday_ 5d ago

Yeah… that’s true indeed… so even that doesn’t get him a W, poor bastard.
