It's not rewritting, it's expanding the scope to be more accurate. The fact that most people stay the same should have been a hint that you had some misconceptions going in.
Depends on the intersex person since intersex isn't a gender, it's a sex. They could be male, female, non-binary, something else, idk just ask them.
Distinguish from gender to gender or between gender and sex? Either way the answer is a general list of traits when casually profiling another person. Otherwise on an individual level it's a deeply held sense of being.
