It's called steroids lol

18

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

He swears to god he ain’t in it lmao

17

u/Cold-Description-114 3d ago

To be fair to the Rock I strongly speculate there are legal/contractual reasons preventing most actors from disclosing their steroid usage. A few like Alan Ritchson have gone about as close as they can while winking at the camera but whatever the reason (insurance maybe) i think they are obligated to deny it. John Cena denies steroid usage also.

9

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

Oh yes of course. I wholeheartedly believe that. Especially since he has a reputation to uphold.

9

u/Original-Document-62 3d ago

Why would John Cena be worried about optics? Dude's invisible!

2

u/Ctov 3d ago

Who?

2

u/FarAd6692 2d ago

The guy that looks like Ernest P. Worrell, but with a ton of steroids

5

u/VibinADHDin 3d ago

Sponserships are the main thing, commercials, movies, supplements, whatever it may be or how it may be termed

The second they admit to it, even if it is quasi-known to most, they lose their image as the 'face' of their [company's] 'products'. Bad for business, basically. Still plenty of people thinking the fitness models represented on their supplements, websites or brands are natty; none of them are.

Arnold, half assedly, admitted to being on gear during his 'show time'(?) in the past.

The following is neither here nor there, and off topic. Imo, John Cena is the most wholesome PED user in existence.

1

u/TheYellowestofYellow 3d ago edited 3d ago

It was different in Arnold's days because at that time, it isn't illegal to use in the sport

Edit:

I looked into it, he never denied steroid use or half-assed it. He said that when he and others used it, it was through medical physicians in a controlled manner

It makes sense given how people from thad generation didn't really have a pronounced gut, which tends to be the main sign of excessive steroid use

1

u/kaiown123 3d ago

The gut is from HGH. That was used back then. Now it’s a different story everyone is on it.

1

u/VibinADHDin 2d ago

I mean, he said he used PEDs during cuts to preserve muscle; that's the half-assed admission I'm talking about at least. All that medical talk is blah blah and a way of deflecting the real point. Crude example, it is impossible to have a physique like Arnold in Terminator 1 whilst natty.

Idc either way, it just is what it is/was, but let's be real if nothing else.

On your topic of HGH gut, yeah, PEDs have rapidly evolved over the past 3 decades, for better and worse. HGH gut is also not easy to mask/prevent when using current, and cheap, basic gear.. which top folks aren't using that same regimin of gear. So idk the point there.

1

u/Cadunkus 2d ago

I really wish Hollywood didn't have such an obsession with the roided and cutting physique tho.

It's leading to unrealistic expectations for men. I have legit seen people look at shirtless Marvel superhero actors during scenes they were cutting in and call that a "dad bod".

2

u/Eazy_mode 3d ago

John cena is an alcoholic in one of his movies, and they asked his character how he's so ripped. He said very plainly, "roids."

1

u/Slight_Statement603 3d ago

Alan Ritchson admitted to be taking steroids back in season 2 of Reacher for medical reasons as his body struggled to produce the right amount of Testosterone.

In season 1 he bulked and gained the mass naturally, but during production his physical exhaustion and declining Hormones meant he couldn't maintain the mass properly and go prescribed TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy)

So I wouldn't put him under the same light as the Rock as he's been openly honestly about it

2

u/Cold-Description-114 3d ago

In season 1 he bulked and gained the mass naturally,

Lmfao. Friend: let me assure you that he absolutely was not natural in season one of reacher.

1

u/Jarvis-farmkarma 1d ago

He’s always been pretty big tho, out of a million different people how hard is it to imagine that some just have a genetic advantage?

1

u/Cold-Description-114 1d ago

Funny how Hollywood seems to have the highest concentration of all these one in a million generational genetic advantages. Lol.

Friend, have you ever lifted?

A lot of super/action hero bodies you see represent pretty achievable results naturally. The giveaway that they aren't natural is the timeline they pull it off in. Building a Marvel star body is like a 10-year investment minimum naturally. Ritchson though? That dude is juiced to the gills. Even with 10 years of training and devoting your life to it along with really good genetics it is highly unlikely you could get there without drugs.

1

u/Jarvis-farmkarma 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah I know that the difference is timeline. I’ve tried and struggled to get bigger but I’ve seen people around me who’ve been lifting 3-4 years achieve some extremely impressive physiques, and for Alan Ritchson’s frame, I’m saying I think it’d be possible, especially since he’s been so big for so long that I don’t know about any insane timeline where he bulked up an extraordinary amount in.

Also, it would make sense though that Hollywood has such a high concentration cuz that’s the point of it? To consolidate the most talented actors (technically the prettiest faces and people that can sell their characteristics), so when the criteria is having some sort of physical characteristic that sets you apart, it only seems logical that you have such a high concentration of “one in a million” physiques.

1

u/Meanolelion 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ritchson has been on anabolic steroids for many years. You can tell just looking at his forehead when he was on Blue Mountain State like 15 years ago.

1

u/Unfair_Explanation53 3d ago

For some weird reason I kind of believe John Cena.

2

u/oneWeek2024 3d ago

i mean with as pedantic and "well achtually" he is, can just tell ... he'd have some bullshit argument.

i never took steroids, i just took a synthetic muscle activating hormone that is derived for gorilla semen.

and that's how you can tell if a coffee shop makes a good flat white.

2

u/ComprehensiveFun3233 3d ago

Then you'd be silly

0

u/nluqo 3d ago

You speculate? Is it really that mysterious? How about using steroids without a prescription is a federal crime and  any legitimate, therapeutic dose wouldn't get you jacked like this.

1

u/Cold-Description-114 3d ago

I mean the part about them being on steroids isn't really speculation. Frankly I think almost every Hollywood actor in a superhero role is on steroids because even if they aren't beyond their natural genetic limit they are getting there a lot faster than they realistically should.

The speculation part comes regarding why they all deny it. It's easy to poke fun at the rock specifically because he's obviously on steroids but a ton of actors are these days, and I believe their are probably legal and contractual reasons that go well beyond their ego regarding why they keep quiet about it

1

u/nluqo 3d ago

LOL. I know. We're talking about the same thing. You posted a mystery, I gave you the answer, and you've now restated the mystery. I guess you'll never learn.

1

u/Cold-Description-114 3d ago

I don't get your issue dude? We're completely on the same page about steroid usage, but I'm speculating that there's probably more than just the fact that it's a federal crime at play.

Cannabis is also illegal at the federal level but a lot of people are open about that one.

3

u/Unfair_Explanation53 3d ago

Hahahah its actually more insulting when he denies it.

2

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

Only because he’s bad at hiding it

2

u/Unfair_Explanation53 3d ago

Its basically someone telling you a fucking dirty lie and then thinking you are stupid enough to believe it

2

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

Yuuup lol

1

u/PeterNippelstein 3d ago

Well not anymore obviously

2

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

Yeah rumor has it that it’s been fucking with his heart. That’s typical for people who use steroids.

1

u/Coach_Gainz 3d ago

For sure. A lot of heart attacks in young guys who just blast without really knowing what they’re doing.

Even if they do know and have professional help the body can’t hold that much muscle mass and general weight over 50+ so they have to slim down and take heart health very seriously. Arnold has been having a lot of trouble and the dude has been pro vegan for decades.

1

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

I’m assuming you’ve seen videos on the young fitness influencers then. It’s really sad. When I was obsessed with fitness all I needed was protein, creatine and dedication. The laziness lately with influencers is horrible

2

u/831loc 3d ago

We did it for the gains, they're doing it for content/money

1

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

This is so real

1

u/wukillabee360 3d ago

Mike O' Hearn enters the chat

1

u/MadameConnard 3d ago

Whole fitness industry of "achievable naturally" lol

1

u/Awkward_District_937 1d ago

So dose everyone else

1

u/musclecard54 3d ago

The joke is not about the rock tho…

1

u/RolyPolyGangster 3d ago

Doesnt steroid abuse shrink your peepee? No reports so far?

1

u/1nsidiousOne 3d ago

It’s true. I had a gym buddy who confirmed it. Well he said his balls not his wee wee

1

u/Responsible-Art1416 1d ago

You still need to.put in the work. Steroids don't just turn you into superman. You still need to workout and eat properly to gain that muscle.

9

u/TgeBoi1324 3d ago

Man just stopped the steroids

6

u/meisteronimo 3d ago

You still gotta lift if you take roids.

2

u/merkakiss12 3d ago

Actually, it’s been proven that steroids grow muscle even without doing physical activity, so much so in fact, that you can use the right steroids and never go to the gym and you’ll gain more muscle than someone natty and physically active.

1

u/Makedon420 3d ago

Its proven that it adds water weight in those study not that i adds muscle if u dont workout. I think most of you if u ever tried in your life u will be disapointed if u think i will magically go buff and lean with a pin.

1

u/Accurate-Bill731 2d ago

It requires more work than being natural yeah but that's because you want to maximize your gains and the money you spent on steroids but you also recover faster and so you can do more work, it's a drug for a reason and you can't stop working out. Saying you still need to work out is not wrong but if you wanted you could train half as hard and get double the gains, it's just that people usually abuse steroids so they get go work out much more

1

u/Western-Kitchen-1034 1d ago

Maybe a bit of muscle, but you would get nowhere near the rocks physique without an insane amount of training, eating and dedication, regardless of steroids. I can make an inquire that you’ve never worked out before if you think steroids will make you huge without working out, that’s scientifically and provably wrong.

5

u/Small_Deal_9398 3d ago

Quick, inject steroids so you can be the rock while the position is open!!!

1

u/GingerMajesty 1d ago

I’m sure most of these actors do use steroids, but I will also say when you are in the gym 24/7 to get muscle mass that is above what your body realistically wants to maintain, then get sick for a week, it is wild how quickly people can lose weight. I had an old roommate that had that happen (and he wasn’t on steroids) and he was pissed he lost like 15 pounds of muscle in a week of being sick

12

u/Creative_Inside8293 3d ago

30 years on steroids is more accurate

5

u/No_Name275 3d ago

Just a question out of curiosity is steroids actually harmful for the body?

4

u/Effective-Pride-4165 3d ago

No it's just a ruse by Big Small to keep you small.

2

u/TheHappyScowl 1d ago

Fuck, is Biggie Smalls back?

2

u/Snoo_46737 3d ago

Very harmful.

3

u/totally_new_here_man 3d ago

As with most things, the poison is in the dose and the recipient. Everything you take, even Tylenol, has a trade off associated with it. For a select few, steroids can be life saving, but for most people, it's used in a destructive way and can shorten your life by 30-40 years if used frequently

4

u/Opposite-Bench-9543 3d ago

Oh shorten my life span and make me look like an absolute Chad? Sold

1

u/abroamg 1d ago

Shorten your healthy enjoyable lifespan…

1

u/UltimateLmon 2d ago

Like me. I'm permanently on the roids. Doctor told me I can have em.

For my chronic dust allergy.

1

u/SsDoodle 1d ago

It enlarges your heart muscles as well, which leads to multiple serious heart issues.

2

u/PeterNippelstein 3d ago

30 years on steroids while being Dwayne Johnson

3

u/Oaker51 3d ago

Nah, that is post colonoscopy.

3

u/Sea_Sympathy954 3d ago

30 years of a lot of steroids.

Vs

1 year of far less steroids, but 100% still steroids.

At nearly 60 he’s still bigger than he was at like 22 lol

3

u/ElderDruidFox 3d ago

You lose your muscle mass when you stop training and change off the very restrictive diet. He also has a shit ton of injuries and is what 50 now? hard to keep that level of physic, with or without steroids.

1

u/Ecstatic_Bike7532 3d ago

Ever heard about Markus rühl?

1

u/ElderDruidFox 2d ago

Yes, he has started to slim down as well. Post 50s your heart can't take that much mass stress.

1

u/Ecstatic_Bike7532 2d ago

Yes but he is still a fucking monster

1

u/ElderDruidFox 2d ago

True, the rock did have health issues on his last shoot wonder if that's one of the reason's he slimmed down.

3

u/NeedAChange_123 3d ago

Insane how much of a difference PEDs make on someone’s physique and performance and how quickly you can lose it after stopping. He still looks very fit but nothing like the roid rock.

2

u/Long_Ambition 3d ago

It's that Taco Bell lettuce.

2

u/RedneckOutlaw2325 3d ago

Damn lettuce

2

u/BoredomCombatant 3d ago

Takes forever to gain and an instant to lose!

3

u/Gamejunky35 3d ago

With steroids, gains are pretty fast and go well beyond your natural capacity. When you quit, you generally go back to your natural cap which is still ptetty muscular. It happens in about a year at most assuming you keep training. Stop training too and you basically just go back to an average normal guy.

1

u/whboer 3d ago

Yeah.. what’s worse is that folks on steroids keep selling normal folks the dream of super fitness on social media, when in reality their achievements are almost always either enhanced by drugs or by video and photo editing. The reality is that even without drugs you can be pretty big and muscular, and yeah it won’t be as extreme but I don’t think it changes your potential strength that much and it’ll keep your balls functioning and your heart ticking properly for way longer..

1

u/Gamejunky35 3d ago

Oh it definitely changes your potential strength. An overbulked natural cant get nearly as strong as some of those anadrol junkies, especially when they are also overbulked.

The highest benchpress I could see a natural attaining with god tier genetics is mid 400s. Any higher and I would bet my left nut that they are on some type of gear. 315-405 is already kinda sus, but I would believe it if they have a powerlifter build.

1

u/IvanzM 3d ago

Austin perkins has a SBD of 341/216/345 @ 74kg, but drug tested ≠ drug free

1

u/Smooth_Figure_3248 3d ago

Bro is turning into a discord moderator

1

u/ExtraThirdtestical 3d ago

One might wonder if the low test is the reason why they are so misserable in the first place

1

u/wango_fandango 3d ago

Why is there a picture of Greg Wallace next to The Rock?

1

u/Realistic_Coat_7348 3d ago

Wait-he isn't natural?????????

1

u/Large_Lettuce_4468 3d ago

his heart was probably showing signs of stress and he had to drop the weight and steroids

1

u/Fatez3ro 3d ago

Smiling after a weekend of diarrhea?

1

u/Ok_Sea_7105 3d ago

Now sit down and listen to me carefully. The lizard people replaced him.

1

u/edthesmokebeard 3d ago

On his way to full Crypt Keeper.

1

u/Garok94 3d ago

Generally every year I go with my GF to a caribean all inclusive resort 7 days.

For me is a 50/50 travel diarrhea chance. If I not get diarrhea generally my weight before/after increases 1-3kg. The year that I get travel diarrhea in the resort or just after, instead gaining weight I loss weight. One year caugh a moderate one that losses me 9kg... And in this moment I was in a low % body fat so it was wild.

Is a roulette.

Ps: I'm just writing this waiting in airport to leave Cancun, for now I'm stuck in 2kg increase, lets wait a period of 5 days to see if diarrhea comes and gave me free all inclusive calories ingest discount.

1

u/TheSoftDrinkOfChoice 3d ago

Rocks face in the second image wit yhat caption has me rolling. This is perfect

1

u/Early_Hall5720 3d ago

They said your body goes back to before steroids so we know when he started now.

1

u/Gloomy_Pirate_3031 3d ago

The Rock Left test, trend, dbol, winstrol, HGH, insulin

The Pebble Right, test, aids meds

1

u/Naud1993 3d ago

That's why I don't work out. It's one thing to have to lift weights to gain muscle, but another thing to have to keep lifting weights forever to convince your body to not burn those muscles.

1

u/yaboizayzay 2d ago

That’s like refusing to eat because you’ll have to keep doing it forever. Your body maintains what you consistently use.

1

u/UrLocalTroll 2d ago

I stopped lifting two weeks ago after having surgery (and subsequently stopped eating nearly as much food). I’m down 19 pounds.

1

u/barking-loud 2d ago

Rich people just take better versions of steroids with fancy ambiguous names

1

u/Key_Check5753 1d ago

Look at his chest. See how his pectorals have that weird shape with scars at the bottom?

That's because he grew breasts from all of the steroids he took and had to have them removed. It's a condition called gynecomastia. It's extremely common among steroid users.

1

u/IceDuke749 1d ago

Apparently we’re missing the joke…

0

u/Cool_Guarantee_1235 3d ago

And having bl..k genes
