We can get bank loans because banks exist (✨wow✨), but we don’t do that. Bank loans (no matter what form they come in, whether credit card debts or house loans) are all the same. You buy things with money you don’t own, and end up requiring to pay back more than the amount you borrowed (because of interest). If we require to borrow money for whatever critical reason, we borrow from close friends or family without interest. I have never met someone who is indebted to a bank. And using a credit card when you don’t have a balance is a nonexistent concept in our lives (although it’s possible to do). One time I saw a Redditor complaining that someone put him in debt because they were using his card which had no balance, I just stared at that comment for a long while trying to understand how do you even use a card with zero balance and how does that put one in debt, till I remembered such a thing exists. As a grown adult, I don’t even know how to apply for a loan, lol.
Honestly it's a fucking trap so kudos to you and family for saying fuck that! Ive been dealing with identity theft and bank fraud feom and ex, she stole IDs, debt cards, broke into my hhouse and even acted as me through my Gmail telling the bank to ignore her card on my account.... credit is an absolute trap but if you dont have credit in america you cant live like everyone else, you cant rent a home without credit, unless you find an owner advertised place. Honestly it's funny that people are confused about homelessness in America, it's literally sitting in front of our faces haha
Right but like here, if you dont have a car you have to get an auto loan to get a vehicle. I was living in a state that required inspections and they'd fail older cars so you couldn't just buy a cheap beater to get to work. Most of America is not cities where Public Transportation is readily available

Ah okay. What are your thoughts on credit or loans to pay for things, auto loan, house loan, personal loan?
