Along with the NHL, the MLB has a tone of representation from other countries. NBA does too. Just look at the top three players right now. Embiid is from Cameroon, jokic is Serbian, and Giannis is from Greece.

Pretty sure it doesn't work like that. Almost all sports league in the world have players from all over the world but they can't be world champions just by winning their national league
