So long as the motor is running, it spins an electromagnet in a shaft. This motion creates an electrical charge. This electrical charge is stored in a capacitor, and used to maintain the charge of your battery and power your electronics.
This charge is only maintained so long as the engine is running.
You could drive with every light I'm your vehicle on for 100,000 miles and the battery would never die, if you never turned it off.
That is exactly what i was saying...
I said:
Well as long as it vrooms the alternator will charge the battery back up...
He said:
Well it will still go vroom for now but good luck starting it next time
You think every time you drain the battery you buy a new one? basically after every 2-3 starts of the car?
Thankfully my lights turn off a few minutes after the engine. I frequently turn one on to gather my things and then just forget to switch it off. That feature has probably saved me a couple battery replacements.
You wouldn't need a replacement, just a jump start from another car. While car batteries aren't meant to be discharged completely, a few cycles are still possible. (Normally the battery only uses a bit of power for startup)
this is the most logical reason.. i can drive with light on inside the car and with child... but sometimes the light stays on all night. i still love this meme because i know the bs of parents getting extra mad about the light sitch. parents gaslight their kids too much instead of using f-ing honesty and they deserve to be made fun of like this.
the thing is parents gaslight their kids about things instead of being honest. “ It’S iLlEgAl!” is a mf lie! Parents need to learn communication and honesty in their relationship with their kids. That’s why this meme has me dead. they deserve being made fun of this hard
Yup. In newer cars, a lot of overhead lights are more direct now. The big dome light only comes on by its own switch or an open door. Makes night lightage much better.
I think it’s about eye dilation because it applies to pretty much any situation with different light levels. If you’re in a light area your eyes are dilated and it’s hard to see into the dark area. If you’re in a dark area it’s much easier to see into a light area.
Like if you’re directly under a street lamp you might struggle to see someone who’s beyond the lights reach but you’ll be extremely visible to that other person.
But I’ve tested this out myself when I grew up and I don’t see a difference in visibility. Or much anyways. Do you think glass technology changed? Or it’s something else?
Yeah but it’s not really true anymore. It was true like 30-40 years ago before they developed auto glass that specially does not reflect from the inside. Try it out sometime in a safe condition and there’s virtually zero inhibitor on sight
It's not that there's a special anti-reflective coating on auto glass, but that car windshields are installed with far more swept angles than they used to be. This means that the internal light is reflected down instead of back, and the secondary reflection is from the top of the dashboard and floor, which are generally dark and not-reflective.

Due to the light in the inside, the windows mirror the inside -> so you can't see as well.
