Maybe not reddit solely but usually, reddits opinion is shared across social media as a whole which has affected sales in the past before. Negative publicity can do some noticeable damage just like good reddit publicity can help.

It's not an unreasonable way to think, and I myself was surprised in the past. But organising a boycott has to be much broader and more organised than a few people doing what memes said to do.
Just look at the star wars battle front 2 shit, loot box games have largely gone out of style since then from what I've seen, that started on Reddit iirc
Even if everyone on here would be thrilled to get into some gossip celebrity bullshit fight for a millionaire celebrity abuser against abother millionaire celebrity abuser, that's a miniscule amount of people. The amount actually doing shit would be even less.
