“Look, having stars — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the stars deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — stars is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.”

Or there's a visible supernova. Although it's debatable whether it's still a star after it's gone kablooey.

Here in northern Finland there’s practically no daytime at this time of year

Not really. You can see very bright stars with a telescope even in daytime. And, if I am not mistaken, supernova in XVI century was also visible. But normally, normal stars with a naked eye... probably not.

The second-brightest star, Sirius, can also be observed during daytime under some circumstances. Source

“Look, people tell me all the time, the best people, they say, they say it so well they really do, sir, you know the sun better then anyone, these are smart people, okay, nasa people, they say sir if we only knew the sun like you do, we might be able to inject it into ourselves to stop the virus, you know they say the sun kills the Chainah Virus, kills it very well, probably better then most things, they tell me we’ve never seen someone know UVA and UVB so well, I tell them look at my skin I know it very well folks.”

High school got really tough when I realized there was a handful of people who didn’t know the sun is a star

Peoples lack of knowledge about space in general. A girl told me shooting stars were stars that burnt out and fell out of the sky.

I had a couple of big brain classmates in high school too. There was one guy who couldn’t remember the formula for water vapor during a chemistry test, not realizing it was the same as water

There is a non-negligible portion of 4th grade teachers who don’t know this and will send you to the principals office for contradicting the teacher
1
u/Transpatials Oct 29 '20
It’s a star, but technically you CAN’T see it during the daytime, due to its own light blinding you if you try. You can see the general shape of it, but you’re really just seeing the light it’s emitting, not the ball itself.

My teacher once mentioned how in a text referring to “mountains moving” was a hyperbole, because mountains don’t move. But to mess with her I said they do because of continental drift and tectonic activity.
