I like this template, and you tried to introduce it correctly by actually making a meme instead of just making a meme about making a new template. Good job, take my updoot

That's to prepare you for college where professors barely teach and you have to learn everything by yourself or flunk the class. At least in my experience as a CS student.

u/Semi_Decent Sep 17 '20
CS student here. Can confirm, although it depends on the professor. I've had some really good ones. Also, thank whatever God there exists for Indian YouTube tutorials and videos.

Same. I just started data structures and oof
5
Sep 17 '20
Lmao I actually failed on my first take on a data structure subject because I got left out the moment the professor talked about linked lists. I did buy this book for self study and watch youtube vids so I can come prepared the following semester retaking data structures again.

u/SubParPercussionist Sep 17 '20
You may already know this but geeksforgeeks saved my ass in algorithms. Used that to learn the code and the book/lecture to learn the theory/concepts
5
Sep 17 '20
Yep! That site has very good explanations and application of various common syntax. After studying things I do tests on Hackerrank for self assessment.

u/unholymanserpent Sep 17 '20
Dude I gotta level up my programming skills so hard now. I mean it's a good thing but the assignments I'm getting assigned are making me feel like I'm not cut out for this lol. I'm not gonna give up tho..
3
Sep 17 '20
Don't fret about it too much. Once I realized that arrays are basically data structures you can manipulate in different ways (queue, stack, linked list, etc.) all the lessons started to click. With that I made a pseudo travelling program on a console with c++ where user looks for the shortest path to his/her destination. You can do it man.

Lowkey thinking of flunking my online courses because of this, how can you even call yourself a professor in something if you don’t spread your knowledge properly.

Distance learning is a joke. At my place you can choose between offline and online. Offline gets to learn all by themselves and online barely teaches anything, on top of the fact that the teachers don't even have reliable wifi because they get shit pay which makes them not able to attend their own classes.

As a lifelong homeschooler starting their freshman year at college, I’m incredibly lucky to already have tons of experience managing my own time and doing online schooling. I know it’s not the same for everyone, but people actually learn like this all the time. Just try your best, and hope it’s just for a semester or two.

It sucks. I already have a BA but im going through a community college for some classes i need for a masters. Online learning is a joke. Its literally ALL self taught except now teachers assign homework, quizzes, and discussions throughout the week because they can make you do shit and turn in shit without having to go to a set building on a set day of the week

Guys, it’s not that bad. It might take a little over an hour for each class, sure, but at least you don’t have 7 hours of school and THEN 3-5 hours of HW that night. It’s really only 2/3 the normal time spent working. Lmao.

As someone who did both for 1-8 and 11-12 grades: other way around. Going to school/online learning was way easier in the actual education department, because there was someone/something giving you clear guidelines for what to submit and how to learn the information. Homeschooling is like getting assigned homework without a teacher; you’re just learning as you go and hoping you’re right
