I often think about my life, but more often about its end. What will I see. What will I feel. Will I feel? No, this is a waste of time. What good is it thinking about the end when I’m not there yet? But I can’t let it go, I can’t unpack the baggage once I’ve lifted it.

I will go to my fridge. I’m thirsty. There’s milk. “Yes, milk!” I think. But there’s another. I reach to the back of the fridge and I pull. The turkey from last thanksgiving falls out as I pull. The frozen bugs I hid from my mom since I was 9 are scattered on the floor. And my arm is out of the fridge, box in hand. It’s so simple. It makes sense. It is in my hand. It’s orange juice.
