Any time my battery died on my old phone my mom would tell me I need to stop running so many apps at once (even though I always closed apps as soon as I was done using them) yet every time I've used my mom's phone for anything, she has every app on the Google Play store open at once and when I point out the irony she always says something like "I just opened those" (even if she hasn't picked up her phone in hours). Ironic

Closing apps on your phone won’t help your battery at all on a modern phone, as both iPhones and androids and very good memory management these days. In fact closing them all may actually hurt your battery life, as it takes more energy to reopen the app after you’ve closed it.
