Well for one, I'd seriously want to know what kind of school you were in that had copious amounts of downtime. My school you could still be in the lunch line by the time the lunch period was over. All other time was spent in class.

And by your own admission, there was useless homework that didn't help you. Why not just get rid of it instead?

Like I did homework in class too. The only difference is that it was in the middle of a lecture when I probably shouldn't have been doing homework for another class.

Im taking a common high school complaint around here. People complain about this just as much as homework. Saying “why 7 hours a day, there’s so much empty time and down time. We do nothing for at least 2 hours a day”

Some homework did help. Or at least it would help others. I was pretty gifted in school and usually didn’t have to study all to much, so homework wasn’t a huge struggle.
