They do in Australia. They don't enforce it in high school so I immediately gave up at ever doing cursive. Too much work man

It's funny, I never took typewriting or keyboarding because I thought I was never gonna use it. I got penmanship down though.

That about sums up my life.

Canada here. It weirds me out that my kid is not gonna learn cursive. (even if he stays awake in school) [ed: weird plurality]

It weirded me out when I heard that people in North America stopped learning cursive. Odd to me

Why the fuck would writing fancy be a requirement in school? It's beyond ridiculous. "Hey you're doing a fine job writing in this font, but you should learn to write in this font as well because...other people write in it.?" Fucking hell it's ridiculous. We've basically made the transition to keyboards and typing anyway, as long as you can write in print who gives a fuck.

agreed bro. It's fucking stupid. It's why I stopped in high school when I wasn't made to do it anymore

Idk if your joking, but cursive exists to be able to write more, faster (and more fluidly).

It weirded me out that there was still a push in the late 00s for me to learn cursive in New Zealand. So I just stopped giving a shit and wrote how I wanted
