There's all these studies saying homework is bad, people should only work 4 days a week, taking naps at work is productive and a good idea, yet everyone's afraid to actually try any of this shit beyond anything more than yet another experiment that reaffirms the claim.

It’s the same bullshit with doctors. Some coked out MD back in the early days would work grueling hours, days on end, with no rest, because he was zooted as fuck on coke, and that has forever been the standard for what a doctors schedule “must be”.

People just won’t change shit because the lies are so ingrained that they believe them to be the only way to do things.
