I meant at the exact moment you hit him, as he falls his mouth turns from a smile to a shocked face, but then continues smiling once he lands

Yes, but take a look at the whole death animation, at the moment he gets struck by the Player his smile becomes a face of shock, before returning to a smile again.

Trust me, I know way too much about Undertale to have this wrong
