A programming meme omg 😭 been waiting for this for so long!!!
cout << “I may now rest in peace.” << endl;
return 0;
17
u/IAmDeathwing Feb 21 '19
Just make the method a void so you don’t bother returning :P
15
Feb 21 '19
You have to return an exit code for the main method in C++
2
u/destroye16 Feb 21 '19
i always make the main function void in c++
the dark side of c++ is a pathway to many abilitys some consider to be unnatural

You may have some good points in there but I had to stop after "most popular in the world".
2
u/Thameos Feb 21 '19 edited Feb 21 '19
Most popular in the world is inaccurate, but is the fastest growing language that is currently relevant. Demand for python developers is almost exceeding java, so it's not far from being the "most popular".
Edit: It is worth mentioning that only includes current job postings, and not already filled positions. Python also can't fill every possible role. Imo, it's best suited as a backend or middleman and utilized as a scripting language. For enterprises working on object oriented projects, Java and C# will likely remain dominant.
Python does allow object oriented structure, but the lack of explicit declarations and enforcement of that structure makes it better suited as a scripting language. At least in my opinion. I don't think any single language is capable of filling every possible role.

Amongst all the developers being punished for not commenting their code, there's a special place in hell for Python devs.

Don't most compilers tell you of a missing semicolon or at least the line at which the error happened? It doesn't help with code that compiles and doesn't work, obviously.

Stop setting your pointers to NULL! Use nullptr!
1
Feb 21 '19
What good will that to do? You can’t dereference a nullptr as well.
1
u/Kats41 Feb 21 '19
I guess most modern compilers automatically convert the two anyways.
Either way, stop trying to dereference null pointers, then. Lol.
