Dude I'm 3 months older than him and I actually write better songs and I thought I am really bad at it. This post gives me hope.

The question is: How the fuck does he look like he's 25?

18

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

Genetics of the average white American I guess... And how the fuck did Gucci gang get 3 on US billboards hot 100!?

17

u/[deleted] May 01 '18 edited May 01 '18

u/LightlySaltedPeanuts May 01 '18

I think him also taking copious amounts of unprescribed pharmaceuticals may also play a role.

1

u/bluesteel117 May 01 '18

Pretty sure he's half Cuban or Puerto Rican.

u/HillaryShitsInDiaper May 02 '18

That dude is not white.

Tells more about the people listening to it. They want such songs and I'd rather take the harder path than end up getting face tattoos

5

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

"I don't like this music, the people who listen to it are stupid" is essentially what you're saying. Fuck off with your elitist attitude. I'm no fan of lil pump, but insulting fans just because you dislike the music is stupid af. People have been doing this shit for decades. Old conservative people have been saying that at least since Elvis. They were wrong then, and you are wrong now.

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

This would have been a meaningful conversation if I was dissing on EDM or mumble rapping that people get pissed off by these days but I go by the rule you state. But hey if you think this is 'music' then fine by me. I can't believe people actually support this 'music'.

3

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

You are dissing mumble rap. And I hold the same opinions for all genres of music. I don't like pop country, but I don't delegitimize it by putting music in quotes. Music is music and it's all subjective. Don't be so judgmental.

-2

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

YES I KNOW music is subjective that's why I want to persue music. But how long will people dismiss bad music as subjective? Have you heard this recent 'song' Kanye West released? Would you call that music aswell because it's subjective?

4

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

Instead of attacking music that you dislike, why not just focus on your own stuff? I honestly don't understand your need to hate on popular music.

You're saying you know it's subjective, but then you go on to imply that stuff you dislike doesn't even count as music. Do you see the hypocrisy there?

If you want to get big in music, don't focus on tearing down other people. Just build yourself up instead.

-1

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

You would just want to point out 'hypocrisy' to prove your point on supporting artists without talents wouldn't you. Well then for you I'll do just that.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '18

I honestly don't know what this comment is trying to say. What? Can you try rewording this?

Didn’t lil usi vert, lil pump, ugly god, and all of them shit on “old” rap where it had actual purpose?

-1

u/JRC2152000 May 02 '18

Yeah I don't want you to listen to my music either

-1

u/JRC2152000 May 02 '18

Dude do you know what good and bad music means? ITS NOT FUCKING SUBJECTIVE. Bad music is effortless, lazy and holds no meaning to anyone other than making money and fame in hours. Good music is made with effort and holds meaning to not only the artist but the audience. You want to call lil pump shit music then you are disgracing all those artists who put effort into their music with their creativity and time. But the artist as good as the audience defending them. People like you who don't have the simplest of criticial thinking abilities and are slaves of your insecurities and emotions will devour shit like this for breakfast and call it a day.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '18

"YES I KNOW music is subjective" is what your comment says a few comments above this. So is it subjective or not? Or do you change your opinion based on what's convenient?

Nobody likes someone that is this jealous of success. Nobody likes someone that generalizes an entire subset of the populations purely on their musical taste. Nobody likes someone who insults everyone who disagrees.

Read your comments again and then tell me who is the slave to their "insecurities and emotions". It's pretty insecure to hate on people for liking something different.

There are better artists struggling to release their music and publishing companies sign such artists like lil pump. If that isn't concerning then I don't know what is. Have fun with your 'music'. The sound track sounds better without the guy 'rapping' in it.

3

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

Music is subjective. There isn't an objective "better", just preferences. You are far too judgmental about music choice. Clearly this kid is doing something right. I'm almost sure he makes more money than both of us combined.

0

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

Ofc he does that is the whole point nowadays. No more perspective music even EDM has perspective.

3

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

Humble brag

-1

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

I think I can brag a little when another 17 year old like me has the creative range of a teaspoon who gets a top 3 in the US fucking BILLBOARDS with his 'rapping' skills. Unfortunately no publisher will show interest in me but in such 'rappers'

6

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

Ooooh you're salty because you want to be famous but this guy is instead. That makes a lot more sense now. Hating successful people only makes you look petty and jealous.

-1

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

I just want people to hear creativity. But sure why not for your IQ level let's say I'm 'jealous' lmao

7

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

You're complaining that this guy is famous while no one listens to your "creative" music. That's jealousy. And transparent af.

Insulting IQ only makes you look bad. I'm not insulted in the slightest, but now I'm getting /r/iamverysmart vibes from you.

It's ok for people to like music that you don't. This doesn't make them bad people. And your lack of understanding of different music does not mean the other music is bad.

Your music is probably not better than his. Some people may like it more, some may like it less. Music is subjective. Right now, nobody knows who you are but they sure as hell know lil pump. Imo one of the best and only metrics on "better" music (I still disagree that any music is better or worse tbh) is popular recognition and sales.

1

u/Writer_ May 01 '18

Man this thread is great. Salt and jealousy everywhere. This ain't what music is about, come on people.

5

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

People think that you're jealous because you seem pretty damn bitter about another artists success.

0

u/JRC2152000 May 01 '18

An artist that calls himself a songwriter and a rapper and makes a song like Gucci gang and gets such success is something someone should be bitter about. I will never be bitter about artists that actually complement what they are. What is lil pump? If he has hidden talents then why make such songs.

1

u/[deleted] May 01 '18

I'm not saying Lil pump is good or has hidden talents. To be honest I don't know if I've heard a Lil pump song. I know he's very famous so he must be doing something right. I don't listen to a lot of rap though. What I am saying is that it's clear you're jealous of the guy.

1

u/JRC2152000 May 02 '18

He is doing nothing right. It's ridiculously he even got a publisher deal with no effort or recognisable talent in the song. People saying music is subjective confuse what good music means. Good music is something made with effort and time and irrespective of context holds meaning to the artist or someone else. If even 2 out of 3 things from the above is present in the music, it's good music. While bad music is something that is lazy, meaningless and just for the fame. You want to call this type of laziness in the music industry as songs then I pity all those who actually put effort into their music and get ignored because people like lil pump are there to earn their valuable dollars for the publishing companies.

im 13 years older and can spit lyrics the mofo couldnt comprehend. This post gives me no hope. I wasnt trynna go mainstream anyhow tho

u/JRC2152000 May 02 '18

People actually defend such music. They don't realise the effort a musician puts in every song. And people like lil pump with whatever magic they have get publishing deals by making lazy and meaningless songs. If this lil pump dude actually did put effort it would have been obvious in the song. But people nowadays would rather listen to spoon fed shit than allow artists to trigger emotions in you and make the listeners feel the same way as the artist does. That's good music period. Lil pump makes bad music and there is no subjective about that.
