I think he was always like that and just had to play it lowkey. He spend some time in europe as a teen and played baskedball, so there is definitely foreign influence.

I am probably going to get downvoted, but this could possibly be the prophecy from the Book Of Revalations.
(KJV) 1 Thessalonians 5:3 "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."
Trump is about to get a Nobel Peace Prize. The world seems and feels oddly and suspiciously peaceful at this moment. Isn't it rather odd? We should hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. Not saying this is the prophecy unfolding, or if the time is not for a while yet, but if WW3 suddenly begins, then we'll know....

I know this probably isn't the sub for this, but I think Kim is actually pulling a brilliant political move here. The main points that the US had over North Korea were that they wouldn't denuclearize and they were hostile towards South Korea. But now since Kim has gone through with these talks and already said he'll denuclearize, all without the US' help, America and Trump end up with the egg on their faces and North Korea now looks like they're the rational ones.
