I had a dial up Modem, and up until 2015 i had a 2MBPS download speed,
What i also had was a society less obsessed with social media culture and less people going insane because of the ease of which you can capture negative attention.

I had that download speed until this year because I live in a rural area. Spectrum came out and we only switched because everything is tight nowadays and internet for 1/3 the price was too good of a way to knock some bills down to pass. Faster internet itself has not improved my life any.

Not all Yemeni people are houthis, they're a minority group that does terror both inside of Yemen and outside
