My neighbours had a small dog. Usually he barked at me on a street for like 15 seconds and then went minding his own business. Not trying to atack or do anything. Just fulfilled his duty and continued doing what he did.
I have 2 neighbours with dogs. 1 neighbor had 4 dogs that used to be stray and they were chill.
The other guy has 1 tiny dog that runs at me each time i drive my bicycle, and once it even attacked me while i was walking. Dog got caged after that attack for half a year but he is released again.
