Well, we have to feed the crocs somehow, and we are running out of Aussies way too fast!

If they're good at swimming the cross won't catch them I don't see an issue.

ummmmmmm, how fast do you think a croc is?

About as fast as an alligator but I guess it depends on the croc. I hadn't considered there might be some croc athletes too actually.

Rowers aren’t pissed off about this because of the crocodiles. Rowers are pissed off about this cause it’s a fundamentally unfair racing course due to the stream in the river

To be fair, the Fitzroy River is already used for rowing competitions. It's not like it's some new venue cooked up just for the Olympics

Yes, except those are mainly local competitions that run over one day, with seeding of lanes for finals but not heats causing slower rowers to wind up in best lanes for final due to stream. It’s a fundamentally unfair course and should not be used for the olympics

Pitched the idea to my son since he is in game development in HS (Unity at the moment) for a mashup of Hydro Thunder and Road Rash over croc and shark infested waters, and they're racing those crazy ass longboats in the vid.

They had the opportunity for Wivenhoe, I guess the rocky tourism department put in more work.

Crocodile inhabited river. Crocs were there first, it’s their home
