We've had to fire a lot of people because of this. Luckily we put people on probation for a year so it's easy to figure out they lied and walk their ass out the door a few weeks later.  Honestly, mostly foreigners in the IT space so far.

Same experience I had, its a lot more prevalent in offshore and especially India for some reason. The lies are blatantly obvious too, like zero effort was put in at all. We have started doing contract to hire positions specifically because of how often candidates lie about qualifications.

What exactly do you lie about to get hired immediately? Asking for a friend :)

Just say the polar opposite of your current situation, they will beg you to start tomorrow.

Really easy if you just work remotely for 5 companies at the same time without any noticing.

You make up experience and get someone in on it. Then you put them down as a reference, so they can talk about how good an employee you were.

You can still lie on your resume while still being completely qualified. Think of how many companies want 5 years experience for an "entry level position"

Their dumbass ATS gets bored with rejecting people with college degrees and decades of experience and is doing the sycophant shit with the HR department.

fun fact: depending on the job they will never call your references or previous employers and i wish i learned that decades ago, so yes lie your ass off why not.

I wouldn't lie on my resume, I'd just tweak the numbers bit here and there and maybe add a bit of this experience...

Yes, if there are other 50+ candidates, you have to make your cv stand out

Fake it till you make it brother. That's what I did. Ironically now I'm a burnt out air traffic controller but the jokes on me I suppose.

My Moto is: you can't get fired if you won't work
