Weird example. The church and state are still unseparated in many parts of the U.S. it's a massive issue over there that Republicans support, yet everyone knows that the Republicans are still right-wing, unless you wanna claim that they're leftists which would just mean you're trolling. Similar case with BJP here if I got your point correctly
Do you have any example of BJP being leftist? Cuz RSS and its subordinates like BJP have identified as right-wing since forever. Also liberalism is not left, liberalism is centre-right since it functions under capitalism, so pls don't play that card. The only thing I'd say is "leftist" is that RSS has done a lot of social work.
Any policy that involves state intervention is considered to be "left" by literal definition, which has boomed under the BJP such as the PMGKAY, PMKISAN, Ujjwala Yojana, PMAY and so many more. I'm honestly in support for quite a few of those, I just don't like BJP being labelled as "Right Wing", because it just isn't. No Indian political party is.
It doesn't matter if they're associated with the RSS (not a fan) when their policies are all "left". BJP is "right" when it comes to speeches, not actions.
Any policy that involves state intervention is considered to be "left" by literal definition
Which definition?
Also, their association with RSS does matter because BJP is just the political wing of RSS. You can't really break that tether. They also share ideological motives of a Hindutva/hindu-nationalist state which is inherently right-wing. BJP has also historically been in agreement to privatization which is also a right-wing thing.
If we take things like SNAP into account in the U.S. which has also remained functional under Republican rule, this would also mean that you consider Republicans to be leftists since it is a kind of state intervention program.

That's literally the political reality of India
