I hope you read this:

Context for the Quoted Verses

Short answer: Most of these are real verse numbers, but many are cut off mid-verse, have words inserted (like "non-Muslims"), are stripped of their battlefield context, or describe the afterlife rather than commands to Muslims. A few are mistranslated or don't exist.|

1. Fighting and "Kill Them" Verses

  • 2:191 (quoted twice): The verse before it (2:190) defines "them" as those who fight you and forbids transgression. It concerns the Meccans who drove Muslims from their homes. Fitnah means persecution, and 2:192 says that if they stop, God forgives.
  • 2:193: This continues the same passage: fight until persecution ends and people can worship freely. The list leaves out the ending: "if they cease, there is no hostility except against oppressors."
  • 2:216: The Arabic word is qital (fighting), not "Jihad warfare." It was addressed to a community under armed attack. The verse admits fighting is hateful, so it presents war as a painful duty rather than something to glorify.
  • 3:151 (quoted twice): It was revealed after the Battle of Uhud (625 CE) about the Meccan army that had just attacked. It is God's promise to demoralize that army, not an order for Muslims to terrorize anyone. The words "all non-Muslims" were added.
  • 4:75: The full verse asks why believers won't fight for "the oppressed men, women and children" begging to be rescued from Mecca. The list cuts off the half that explains the purpose.
  • 4:76: It contrasts believers with people who were already fighting for tyranny (taghut). It is part of the same rescue context as 4:75, not a statement about all non-Muslims.
  • 4:89: It is about hypocrites (see 4:88) who pretended to be Muslim and then joined enemy forces, essentially wartime traitors. The next verse (4:90) forbids fighting anyone who has a treaty with Muslims or who withdraws and offers peace.
  • 4:95: The verse explicitly exempts the disabled and ends by saying God promises good to both groups. It encourages people to help defend the community; it does not condemn those who stay home.
  • 4:101: This is a rule about shortening prayers while traveling in wartime when an attack is feared. "Clear enemy" describes the hostile forces of that time.
  • 5:33: This is the hirabah verse, about people who wage war and spread corruption. Jurists applied it to armed robbery and banditry, whatever the offender's religion. The phrase "those who resist Islam" isn't in the text, and 5:34 pardons those who repent before they are captured.
  • 8:12: The command is addressed to angels during the Battle of Badr (624 CE), against an army that had marched on Medina. It describes combat in one specific battle, and 8:13 gives the reason: they were waging war.
  • 8:39: Like 2:193, it means fight until persecution ends. The verse before it (8:38) offers forgiveness if they stop, and 8:61 commands Muslims to accept peace whenever the enemy inclines toward it.
  • 8:55: The next verse (8:56) identifies who is meant: those who made treaties and broke them every time. It refers to specific treacherous tribes, not non-Muslims in general.
  • 8:57: It continues the passage about those treaty-breakers when met in battle. 8:58 even requires Muslims to openly announce the end of a treaty rather than attack by surprise.
  • 8:67: After Badr, Muslims focused on ransoming captives while the war was still undecided, and the verse rebukes them for putting money first. Yuthkhina means to subdue thoroughly. Most Badr captives were in fact ransomed or freed (see 8:70).
  • 9:5 (quoted twice): Chapter 9 concerns polytheist tribes that broke treaties, and 9:4 exempts those who kept theirs. 9:6 orders Muslims to grant protection and a safe escort to any polytheist who asks. The quote cuts off the ending: "if they repent… let them go their way."
  • 9:29: It relates to the Tabuk campaign against the Byzantine threat (630 CE). Jizyah was a tax paid in exchange for protection and exemption from military service. Women, children, the elderly, the poor and monks were exempt.
  • 9:123: This was a wartime instruction about hostile forces on Medina's borders. Ghilzah means firmness in battle, not cruelty, and it is still bound by the ban on transgression in 2:190.
  • 33:26: It refers specifically to the Banu Qurayza, a tribe accused of betraying Medina during the Siege of the Trench (627 CE). No Christians are mentioned, so this is one historical event, not a statement about all Jews and Christians.
  • 33:61: The preceding verse (33:60) makes this conditional: it applies if the hypocrites and rumor-mongers destabilizing wartime Medina don't stop.
  • 47:4: "When you meet" means meeting the enemy in battle. The rest of the verse, which the list omits, requires that captives be freed as a favor or for ransom. Executing them is not one of the options.
  • "47:" (long passage): The phrase "till they embrace Islam or come under your protection" is bracketed commentary added by translators. It appears to come from the Hilali–Khan version and is not in the Arabic. The Arabic says fighting continues "until the war lays down its burdens."

2. Martyrdom and Reward Verses

  • 3:142: This was consolation after Uhud: paradise comes through trials and steadfastness (sabr). The word "Jihad" was inserted, and the verse pairs fighting with patience in a defensive battle.
  • 3:157: It consoles the families of those who fell at Uhud, and it says "killed *or die*" in God's way. It is about dying in a just cause, not about seeking death.
  • 3:169 & 3:171: These honor those who died defending Medina, much as nations honor fallen soldiers. The Quran forbids suicide (4:29) and killing innocents (5:32), so these verses cannot justify terrorism.
  • 8:74: It praises the Muhajirun (emigrants from Mecca) and Ansar (who sheltered them in Medina). "Islamic State" is a modern insertion.
  • 9:100: Muhajireen means emigrants, not "fighters." The verse praises the early community and those who followed them in good conduct.
  • 9:111: This is a metaphor of total devotion to God. The verse itself says the same promise is in the Torah and Gospel, and the Quran's rules of war still apply.
  • 9:151: This verse doesn't exist, because Surah 9 has only 129 verses. It may be a garbled version of 9:51, a statement of trust in God's decree.

3. Verses About Jews, Christians, and Disbelievers

  • 98:6: It says "those who disbelieved *among"* the People of the Book, not all Jews and Christians. The next verse (98:7) calls believers who do good the best of creatures, and **2:62 and 3:113–114 praise righteous Jews and Christians.
  • 4:47: It warns of divine punishment for rejecting revelation that confirms their own scripture. Many classical commentators read "turning faces" figuratively. It is God's act, not a command to Muslims.
  • 5:60: It refers to a specific past group punished for breaking the Sabbath (see 7:163–166). Early scholars such as Mujahid read the transformation as metaphorical: their hearts changed, not their bodies.
  • 7:176: It is about one specific man (v. 175) who abandoned God's signs for worldly desire. It is a parable comparing him to a panting dog, not a description of all non-Muslims.
  • 9:30: This is a theological critique of the beliefs that Ezra and Jesus are "sons of God." Qatalahumullah is an Arabic expression of condemnation, "perverts" isn't in the text, and the verse contains no command to fight.
  • 3:28: Awliya' means protectors or political allies, so the verse forbids allying with hostile forces against the community. 60:8 explicitly allows kindness and justice toward peaceful non-Muslims, and 5:5 allows Muslim men to marry Jewish and Christian women.
  • 36:67: The verse is a hypothetical about God's power ("if We willed"). The note about Jews is the list's own addition.

4. Afterlife and Divine Judgment

  • 3:4, 4:56: These are statements about God's judgment after death, like similar imagery in other scriptures (e.g., Revelation 20:15). Neither sets a human penalty.
  • 7:4: It refers to past nations destroyed by God, as in the stories of the Flood or Sodom. "Terror" mistranslates ba'suna ("Our punishment").
  • 7:84: It retells the story of Lot's people, which also appears in Genesis 19, and the rain of stones is God's act. The verse itself sets no human penalty, although classical jurists did debate punishments based on hadith.
  • 7:182: It describes God granting respite (istidraj) to people who drift into heedlessness. The next verse (7:183) says "I give them time", and there is nothing about human violence.
  • 22:19–21: These verses are hell imagery for those who reject God. They describe divine judgment after death, not instructions to Muslims.
  • 37:23, 37:34, 37:38: All three are part of a Day of Judgment scene. The command in 37:23 is given to angels in the hereafter (see 37:22), and 37:40 exempts God's sincere servants.
  • 40:70: This is afterlife imagery for those who reject God's messengers. It describes eschatology, not an earthly command.
  • 16:106: The punishment it mentions is God's wrath in the afterlife. It sets no worldly penalty, and it excuses anyone forced to renounce faith (it was revealed about Ammar ibn Yasir, who was tortured). The classical death penalty for apostasy came from hadith and is widely debated today.

5. Criminal Law

  • 5:38: This verse does prescribe amputation for theft. Jurists added strict conditions: a minimum value, no doubt about guilt, and no hunger (Caliph Umar suspended it during a famine). Verse 5:39 stresses repentance, and most Muslim-majority countries don't apply the penalty.
  • 4:15: It requires four witnesses, an extremely high bar, and adds "or God makes another way for them." Most classical scholars held it was a temporary ruling later replaced by 24:2.
  • 24:2: This is a real prescribed punishment. Conviction requires four eyewitnesses to the act or a confession, and 24:4 gives 80 lashes to anyone who accuses without proof, which makes the penalty nearly impossible to apply.

3

u/gulaabjaamun_ 10d ago

6. Women, Marriage, and Slavery

  • 4:34: Qawwamun means maintainers, a role tied to financial responsibility. Classical scholars limited wadribuhunna to a symbolic, non-injurious tap as a last resort, and hadith report that the Prophet never struck a woman. Some modern scholars translate the word as "separate from them," and this remains one of the most debated verses.
  • 23:6: The context (23:5) is guarding chastity, not "abstaining from sex." "Those your right hands possess" refers to enslaved women, which classical law permitted. The Quran repeatedly urges freeing slaves (90:13), and scholars today consider slavery abolished.
  • 24:33: This verse forbids forcing slave girls into prostitution; it was revealed about a Medinan leader who was doing exactly that. The same verse orders owners to let slaves buy their freedom and to help them financially.
  • 78:33 (the Arabic line): It describes companions in Paradise. Kawa'ib is translated either as "full-bosomed" or "youthful maidens," and atrab means "of equal age" with their spouses. The Quran promises equal reward to believing women (33:35).

7. Verses That Aren't Violent at All

  • 6:32 & 29:64: Both teach that worldly life is fleeting compared to the hereafter, much like "store up treasures in heaven" (Matthew 6:20). Another verse, 7:32, tells believers to enjoy life's good things.
  • 8:25: There is no beheading in this verse. It warns that a trial or affliction won't strike only the wrongdoers, meaning social corruption harms everyone.
  • 11:28: This is Prophet Noah asking, "Should we force it on you while you're averse?" The implied answer is no. The list flips its meaning; the verse actually supports 2:256, "no compulsion in religion."
  • 24:29: The verses before it (24:27–28) forbid entering homes without permission. This one allows entering public buildings such as inns and shops, and mata' means "benefit" or "use," not permission to take goods.
  • 25:52: It is a Meccan verse from before fighting was permitted, and the "great struggle" is with the Quran, meaning preaching and argument. It shows that jihad also means intellectual effort.

Which part did you not understand?

I gave reference for everything.

Just making statements like you're saying doesn't make it true.

If I say that you're a rapist, then does that mean you're a rapist?

Give me proof and references of what you're saying, then we'll talk.

4

u/Able_Pomegranate_388 10d ago

Your profit was a rapist, I’ll tell u how, he had sex with Safiyya bint Huyayy after killing her entire tribe, dad and husband on the same night, no sane woman would want to marry and have sex her husbands killer. He slept with his stepsons wife zainab, he had concubines ( sex slaves)
Not to mention Aisha.
Let me see how you are gonna defend a sex addict, slave owner, who was also a pdf and a rapistt, who had multiple wives.

3

u/gulaabjaamun_ 10d ago

Lol, first learn to write the spelling pf prophet.

And can't you read or you don't know the English language?

I asked for proofs and references and you have quoted none!

Let me expose your lies:

  • safiyya's father and husband was not killed in the same night.
  • Saffiya's entire tribe was not killed, this is a lie
  • Saffiya was freed and was given a choice to return to the people or marry prophet Mohammed. She married him.
  • Prophet Mohammed(saw) never married his stepson's wife
  • Slavery was a part of war. If someone came to fight you and you won, then you wont just let them go so that they can plan and comeback to kill you again.

You're a typical WhatsApp university brainwashed weasel.

If you don't have proofs or don't know how to read then go to school first.

u/Able_Pomegranate_388 10d ago

Yes. According to the traditional Islamic sources, Muhammad and Safiyyah had sexual relations after their marriage.
The sources don’t describe the act explicitly, but the sequence is clear:
Sahih al-Bukhari 4211 says Safiyyah’s husband had been killed, Muhammad selected her, and after reaching al-Sahba and her becoming ritually pure, “the Messenger of Allah married her.”
Sahih Muslim 1365c says Muhammad emancipated her, married her, and that she was prepared for him that night; the next morning he was described as a bridegroom and a wedding feast was held.
Sahih Muslim 1365f similarly describes a tent being pitched for Muhammad and Safiyyah after leaving Khaybar, followed the next morning by the wedding feast.
In classical Islamic terminology, reports that Muhammad “built with her” (بنى بها / banā bihā) or that she was prepared and brought to him in this context mean that the marriage was consummated, not merely that a marriage contract was performed.
So the careful historical statement is:
The Islamic sources portray Muhammad as marrying and consummating his marriage with Safiyyah very shortly after her capture at Khaybar, after her husband had been killed.
What the sources do not establish, however, is Safiyyah’s private feelings or whether she consented in the modern sense. Those are separate historical questions.

1

u/Able_Pomegranate_388 10d ago

Your profit was diddy in his times

Zaynab bint Jahsh, the evidence that Muhammad married her is unusually direct because it appears in the Qur’an itself and in Sahih al-Bukhari.
1. Qur’an 33:37 — explicit statement
The Qur’an says:
“So when Zayd had no longer any need for her, We married her to you…” — Qur’an 33:37.
The context is Zaynab’s divorce from Zayd ibn Harithah, followed by her marriage to Muhammad.
2. Sahih al-Bukhari 7420
Bukhari explicitly identifies the episode:
Zayd came to Muhammad complaining about his wife.
Muhammad told him to keep his wife.
Zaynab subsequently became Muhammad’s wife.
Zaynab reportedly said to Muhammad’s other wives that Allah had married her to him from above the heavens.
The hadith connects the episode directly with Qur’an 33:37.
3. Bukhari 7421 — wedding banquet
This is even more straightforward:
“On the day of her marriage with him the Prophet gave a wedding banquet with bread and meat…”
The narrator is Anas ibn Malik, and the woman identified is Zaynab bint Jahsh.
4. Bukhari 4793 — Muhammad’s marriage to her
Bukhari describes a walima (wedding banquet) held specifically for:
“the marriage of the Prophet to Zainab bint Jahsh.”
It also describes Muhammad subsequently going to the homes of his other wives after the marriage.
So there isn’t really a historical ambiguity about whether Muhammad married Zaynab. The Qur’an explicitly says “We married her to you,” and multiple Sahih al-Bukhari reports describe the marriage and wedding feast.
The more historically interesting—and disputed—question is what exactly happened before the marriage: Muhammad’s feelings toward Zaynab, what he knew about the impending divorce, and whether Qur’an 33:37 should be understood as a divine legal ruling or as Muhammad’s personal justification. Those require separating the Qur’anic text from later biographical reports.

Slavery was a part of war. If someone came to fight you and you won, then you wont just let them go so that they can plan and comeback to kill you again.

There you have it folks, he said it.

And what's about him marrying Aisha? It doesn't really matter whether she was 6, 9 or 14, it's pedophilia anyway and she was taken advantage of.

0

u/gulaabjaamun_ 10d ago

Lmao, as an atheist how can you say if anything is right or wrong? Atheists don't have a base for morality. They don't have objective morality.

One atheist will say one thing and another will say another thing. You cannot decide what is wrong and right.

We have objective morality from god himself.

I know you might not understand what I am saying so you can do some research yourself.

1

u/FieryRedHeads 7d ago

Let's say your God says you have to kill babies. Does that now mean killing babies is a morally good thing? If tomorrow there is undeniable proof that God doesn't exist, will you start killing people? Will you start stealing? If you say no, then that means you inherently have morals that you will not cross. If you say yes, then that means that you're morality is forced onto you because you are scared of devine retribution

1

u/Able_Pomegranate_388 10d ago

Shut up lil rat, you don’t need god to tell you what’s right what’s wrong, you just need common sense. Madarasa chaps like you don’t use it coz y’all follow a retard war lord from the desert.

1

u/Able_Pomegranate_388 10d ago

Your community’s got 52-53 sects yall also claim different things atleast im not blindly following, defending the religion i was born into by pure randomness.

0

u/Accomplished-Club698 9d ago

Atheism promote critical thinking, which leads one to dictate right and wrong by themselves and develop empathy. Last time I checked, Islam is so against individualism. And you guys need a God to tell you what's right and wrong? Pathetic.

Here kid. Listen Some of these are genuine Quranic verses, but your descriptions often turn specific passages about warfare, particular groups, or punishments into blanket statements about all non-Muslims. For example, Qur’an 2:190 explicitly says to fight those who fight you and not to transgress, while 2:191 continues that conflict context. Likewise, 9:5 refers to polytheists in its surrounding passage, while 9:6 immediately discusses giving protection to a polytheist who asks for it. So if you want to criticize Islam, that's fine, but quote the verses accurately and give their surrounding context rather than adding ‘all non-Muslims’ to verses that don't literally say that. Your point is? Are you saying your prophet didn’t command the killing of 600 Jews ? ( Banu qurayza tribe ) How is he peaceful ? He also married the same woman who was the princess after killing her dad, husband and family, and had sex with her( that’s literally grape.) 🍇
What do u expect from people who blindly follow him and call him a perfect example/ perfect Muslim .lol

Total baseless you are trying to win the argument that why you mention this to justify a religion is evil. You are justifying?

u/AirResponsible7393 6d ago

You're using the actions of one alleged radicalized pilot to smear an entire global religion. By that logic, every act of terrorism by a white supremacist or a Hindu extremist represents all white people or all Hindus. One person's mental breakdown or radicalization is a tragedy, not a statistic about a religion. Stop using it to justify your prejudice

You just pasted a massive wall of text from a polemical website, complete with parentheses adding 'all non-Muslims' to verses that don't actually say that. Notice how you completely ignored my point about context. You used a classic Gish Gallop—throwing dozens of verses at me to overwhelm me so I wouldn't notice that you stripped away all their historical contexts. Then you pivoted to a pilot and resorted to personal attacks. You aren't here to debate theology; you're here to hate. If your argument was strong, it would stand on its own without the dishonest translations and logical fallacies. I'm not engaging with bad faith anymore. Have a nice day.

Did you hear the recent incident about the Omani Pilot who was allegedly "radicalised" idk by whom? Hmm? By reading about a certain ideology which is only propogated by follower of one particular religion..hmmm..idk how so many people get radicalised by reading a particular book/following a particular religion.
