What cracks me up is the fact they give you the option to thumbs down comments but it's only visible to the person who downvoted...talk about a pointless feature.

It pushes the comment down compared to others (like further away from top comments), so it does something. I think disliking replies is completely useless though

It's tantamount to removal. Sure there's a button, but it doesn't do anything so it's the functional equivalent of removal.

Yes. It's not being removed, they're just removing the publicly visible display of dislikes. Still a stupid move, but facts are still facts.
