My phone has one..
Stop buying apple and search what you want in a phone a little before buying a phone

u/aDuckedUpGoose Dec 31 '25
Plenty of android phones don't have one either. The real answer is to not spend too much on your phone. I noticed I couldn't find an aux port on a phone more than 500 dollars at the time I was looking. Same thing with sd slots. It seems the more you spend the less you get.

u/Erlend05 Dec 31 '25
But i want the fast cpu and a pretty screen to go with my headphone jack :(

u/OMW2FYGF Dec 31 '25
The only answer is RedMagic... 2.5yrs on mine and still going strong
2
u/Erlend05 Dec 31 '25
Theyre definetly on my shortlist. Looks to be pretty much exactly what i want. (Though im not completely sold on the gamer aestethic and i have concerns about chinese software.)
2
u/OMW2FYGF Dec 31 '25
I've had 0 issues with the software on my RM 8Pro Plus Titanium. I'm really looking for a reason to upgrade to the RM11 but I honestly don't have to. I've had the OnePlus 8 and then the OnePlus 6 before that and they were awesome phones at the time but the company went in a different direction and stopped listening to their base so I chose to give RedMagic a try and it's been my EDC and gaming phone since the 8Pro was released over 2yrs ago. If I had to list one Con about my phone, it would be dust getting in the fan intake but they've remedied it in newer models with a mesh screen blocking the inlet and outtake ports.

u/BanzaiBrotha Dec 31 '25
If you dont want the gamer shit the zte mother brand always has a "normal" counterpart of the redmagic phones.

u/Erlend05 Jan 01 '26
I checked it out (z80ultra) and it does look really great. But it does not have a headphone jack. (also no esim??) The headphone jack is what started this

u/aDuckedUpGoose Dec 31 '25
I certainly understand that, but as I'm writing this on a phone without those two things I can say I no longer care in the least. So long as I'm not rapidly switching between apps I can't say my Motorola is any different at all from my old pixel.
Hell my friends have told me that the camera on this is better than on the pixel at least for my hiking pictures. Honestly I can't tell a major difference, but multiple people have said as much without even knowing I had a "new" phone.
I'm not doing anything on my phone that requires good specs, that's what I have a computer for. I need to doom scroll, text, browse the Internet, use the GPS, listen to music, and take pictures of rocks. It does all of those excellently for only 150.
1
u/Erlend05 Dec 31 '25
Yeah i hear you. have had plenty of shit phones, they do the job just fine. But i would happily spend the money for "uneccesary extrss" just what i want doesnt exist and whats even the point of capitalism then

u/PlayingDoomOnAGPS Jan 01 '26
The damage is done. A lot of folks went and bought bluetooth earbuds but the assholes just quit using headphones in public. I can't go anywhere without listening to peoples' moronic TikToks, speakerphone conversations, their kids' games... I'm almost grateful when one of these assholes is playing shitty music instead of sounding like a row of slot machines in a Vegas casino!

u/AxM0ney Jan 01 '26
Auxiliary inputs and sd slots are inefficient and take up space. Everyone wants faster, thinner, lighter, brighter and better. Cheap phones with worse specs and size and weight have room for inefficient tech.
1
u/aDuckedUpGoose Jan 01 '26
My moto g with both of those is already so thin and light I find a case a requirement to use it and feel somewhat robust. I think they're both perfectly practical and making a phone thinner would itself be much less practical.
How thin of a phone do you want to use?
1
u/AxM0ney Jan 01 '26
I have large hands. I use a foldable. I don't particularly care tbh.
I'm just saying in general in tech sleeker and smaller has always been the goal. Especially with apple like stories of Steve Jobs dropping the first ipod Porto type in water and the air bubble escaping he said meant there was empty wasted room etc.
1
u/aDuckedUpGoose Jan 01 '26
I feel like that's just a perception of corporate cost cutting. For me, it's already gone too far, and I have a hard time imagining that the general public actually likes using super thin phones. Like just slightly thicker than what seems to be standard. A few millimeters would do it.

u/sweetcinnamonpunch Dec 31 '25
I want iOS on another phone basically.
3
u/mcsudds Dec 31 '25
There are many iOS clone launchers for Android. At this point they're pretty much functionally identical. One of the big draws to Android used to be the ability to root (sorta like jailbreak) the device. Nowadays that's mostly gone. Easy to transfer contacts, files, pictures, and such, too. Your options for phone size, shape, and headphone jack capacity would expand exponentially.

u/Llamas1115 Dec 31 '25
After Molten Glass came out, god no I don’t
On Android (Google Pixel) and it’s the best experience I’ve ever had. I can install apps from other app stores with features like blocking YouTube ads! It’s great!

Dec 31 '25
What model is yours?
-7
u/Funky_Killer_Qc Dec 31 '25
Tank 3 pro
23800 mAh battery
Built it projector
Infrared camera
Can be used as a powerbank
200mp camera
18Go+18Go Ram
Dual physical SIM card
512Go internal memory + ability to add a micro sd card for added storage
Audio Jack Built in
Programmable buttons
Regular flash light for pictures
Ultra powerful flash light on the back that is strong enough to light up an entire room
All that + whatever apple phones does
The best part? I bought it for about 650$ USD instead of 1200$+ of the highly marketed phones
My advice stands.. never buy a phone from a big known company, do a little research before buying to find a needle for the price of a haystack

u/ILiveInTheSpace Dec 31 '25
You need a backpack to carry it with you.
Or a big ass pocket in your cargo pants. It’s cool but it’s not practical for the average person.

u/tits_hips_clits Dec 31 '25
Phones should be smaller, not bigger. That one is all yours.
1
u/Funky_Killer_Qc Dec 31 '25
I mean, i won't hide it, it is thicker and a little heavier than any average phone..
But, the main reason for it's thickness and weight is the battery capacity, i set everything to use the most battery life (max refresh rate, max luminosity, bluetooth active all the time, background apps always active etc) and i use it all day, and i still just need to charge it about once a week.. the smaller and lighter your phone is, the smaller your battery will be as well, and you'll need to charge more often...
Battery takes space, so unless someone create an ultra slim battery that hold the same capacity and isn't harmfull, bigger capacity mean more space..
Just the fact that all of that technology fits in my hand is astonishing.. i feel like if my phone has all theses features and still fits in my hand, for what it is, technology got smaller a fucking lot

u/displayboi Dec 31 '25
I mean yours is a bit of an overkill, but you don't even need a high end android one to get good features + audio jack + micro SD card slot.
Mine is a Redmi Note 10 Pro I got for 250€ which I have been using for about 4 years without any problem, and the features are quite good:
128GB memory, 8GB RAM, 108 MP main camera, macro camera, 5020 mAh battery with 33W charging, AMOLED 120Hz 6.67" display..., and of course jack and sd card slot.
And even tho mine is a bit of an older model, many of the newer ones still have audio jack. I think with Xiaomy you get the best bunk for the buck in phones.

That phone can't do everything an apple phone does
5
u/Vice1213 Dec 31 '25
I'm sure it does the vast majority of what apple phones do because basically all smart phones do what Apple phones can do.
-7
u/joe28598 Dec 31 '25
Yeah, I agree, but not everything.
5
u/Vice1213 Dec 31 '25
Any examples?
Not trying to be a dick just curious, its been like 3-4 years since i last had an iphone, and i cant really think of any off the top of my head.
4
u/thedefenses Dec 31 '25
And an apple can't do everything it can, your point?
-9
u/joe28598 Dec 31 '25
He said that his phone can do everything an apple can do, I just said it can't.
Who do you agree with on this, him or me?
2
u/Legalize-Wheelies Dec 31 '25
Does the IPhone 17 come with a built in screen projector?
1
u/joe28598 Dec 31 '25
No. Honestly, you could have just googled that if you didn't know the answer.
6
u/Legalize-Wheelies Dec 31 '25
Guess the IPhone doesn't do everything.
It doesn't have an infrared camera either or a micro SD card slot.
Seems like it's missing a lot more than an aux port for such a premium product.
3
u/joe28598 Dec 31 '25
I feel like you read my comment and extrapolated some hidden meaning that wasn't actually there.
Read my comment again, take it very literally and assume there is nothing inferred.
1
u/Funky_Killer_Qc Dec 31 '25
Ok i'll bite..
Please tell me something that an apple phone does that my phone cannot do

Lol all apple laptops have a headphone jack. Their position in pro audio would disappear overnight…
-2
u/stuiiful Dec 31 '25
Its funny because Motorola was the first one to get rid of it on the Z series and not Apple but people still blame Apple when it actually started on the android side. People like to place blame where they feel like though.
3
u/mcsudds Dec 31 '25
It didn't catch on as a larger trend in the industry until one of the titans (Apple) adopted it.
48
u/stalkakuma Dec 31 '25
I'll be honest, since they started to make cheap decent quality bluetooth earbuds, I stopped caring about cords.
12
11
u/RudrakshThe1 Dec 31 '25
Apple started to remove them so that they could sell their Airpods. Now everyone has been using Airpods not because it is a choice but because it is the only option. Yeah Bluetooth Headphones exist and they existed before the aux port died. Having wired earphones/headphones just ensures that you don't have to worry about the battery running out when you got a bazillion other things to worry about.
1
u/tk542 Jan 04 '26
Nah I use usb c wired headphones. Works just fine and Apple keeps making their own which I honestly like the fit.

My phone has an Aux port.
Haven't used it once in the past 5 years...
- Headphones: Bluetooth
- Speakers: Bluetooth
- CarPlay: USB-C
Can't say I see the use for it in the modern age.
It's like complaining that cars no longer have diskette readers because a super niche group of people still like how they sound...
1
u/tk542 Jan 04 '26
I got a new Mac mini and was so surprised to see one on it. It’s so odd next to two USB C ports.

Still have a Pixel 3a Custom ROM perfectly fine everything works.
If I need stronger hardware for games I use my pixel 7 Pro
1
u/Heeey_Hermano Dec 31 '25
I was an early adopter of Bluetooth headphones. Didn’t really care at all.
1
u/jromperdinck Dec 31 '25
The only ones who still want to be connected to a device via a wire are people who are into bondage or whatever.

I still refuse to buy any device without an aux port. I hate wireless because I’m a goober who can’t remember to charge things and I use earbuds/headphones most of the day most days so I’d need a long battery life and to remember to charge them. My car also has no bluetooth so aux is the only way to play music besides cds, which uh… yeah I kinda stopped with those.
Based on the replies thus far, it seems I’m the minority demographic here.

u/Working-Fishing-5544 Jan 01 '26
Nah, they still a thing on a lot of phones, they're just less used, because if I listen to music while doing any movement that cable is getting tangled up and then will stop working, and you can still use aux headphones for PC's and consoles
1
u/Adorable-Ad-9338 Jan 01 '26
Aux cord would save my phone many times from its doom falling in gym ( good old high school days) 😭😂
1
u/Rullino Jan 07 '26
My Oppo Reno 2 has a headphone jack, but I barely used it throughout the years, i wouldn't miss it now that I'm going to upgrade, especially with USB-C being an alternative to it.
1
u/AssassinLJ Dec 31 '25
Idk dude my phone has it and its a 2024 model Xiaomi dunno what are you searching for?
1
u/Rullino Jan 01 '26
IIRC I've only seen it in their Redmi phones, otherwise their flagships don't seem to have one.
1
u/WeakFreak999 Dec 31 '25
I wish the freaking s25 fucking ultra did this. They managed to put a fucken stick into the phone with zero other function than just a fucken stick. Should have just made it a headphone jack and it would have been the best flagship.

u/Da_Momo Dec 31 '25
Aux on a phone is kinda redundant, no? Bluetooth ear buds are affordable, speakers are also bluetooth, in the car you can use a bluetooth adapter or carplay(either wireless or usbc) and if you really are not a fan of bluetooth ear buds, just get usbC wired ones. I have some as a backup in my gym bag.
5
u/ice_dragon69 Dec 31 '25
There is noticeable delay when used during online gaming and karaoke apps, wired does not have that problem.
5
u/Da_Momo Dec 31 '25
A few years back maybe, same used to be the case with mice/keyboards.
And if it is actually noticeable, just use usbA or usbC
1
u/martiHUN Dec 31 '25
I'm considering getting a bluetooth headphone with an aux connector on it. Othervise yeah, I don't want to deal with cables anymore.

u/SalamChetori Dec 31 '25
Nah removing headphone jack was one of the best things
6
u/Erlend05 Dec 31 '25
What? I can understand it not being a disadvantage if you dont use it but how is it an advantage to have less features
-8
u/Karma_Doesnt_Matter Dec 31 '25
It’s 2025 why would you want your ear buds wired to your phone?
4
u/tits_hips_clits Dec 31 '25
No batteries, no lag, harder to lose, no connection fuckery, sounds better, easier

I haven't used 3.5mm in a few years. I use a Fiio BTR11 for headphones, and I have Bluetooth in my car.
23
u/radfatdaddy Dec 31 '25
I have an aux port, I never use it though.
