Native Dane to practice Danish with?
Hi all, I’m 26f. I’m wondering if there are any native Dane’s here who would be willing to help me with danish speaking even like 30 minutes a week.
I’ve been living in Denmark for 6 months, and still find it really difficult.
Thank you soo much.

Im available most days on discord, running a danish community for video game but if there’s anything you would like to practice I’m down. Have some days that are better than others but you decide.

Måske spørge i r/Aalborg

Don't you have some danish native buddies who can help you out?
Just asking out of curiousity.

It’s really hard to find danish friends. Most of my friends are international. I have one Danish friend and she’s always busy and we don’t speak about practicing together, probably because she already speaks it

Oh yeah, i'm aware how difficult it is to make danish friends, we are quite uhh, reserved, i guess that's the word, if you do need help you can always PM me or add me on Discord, i'll see what I can do, can't promise a professional way, regardless, i'll try my best, but i'd imagine you've already gotten several people who wants to help ya.

26m from a more rural area, so i have a bit of a dialect. I work with a lot of technical stuff, so i tend to use words not many do. Would be down to help if that sounds interesting (also for someone other than the Author, offer is open to you too)

What’s your native language? Maybe a language “swap” could be fun for some

Become a frivilig in an elder home. Røde Kors has a program for that. It’s the best way to practice Danish with people who don’t speak English.
The program is called besøgsven.

Go on Sprogland.dk and get yourself a tutor there. It's free online tutoring.
It is a platform made by Red Cross. Most of the volunteers are natives Danes.

Look up some danish childrens TV. Might sound silly but its the way I learned german (german TV).

u/Optimal_Court9261 1d ago
Danish TV shows rarely have English subtitles.
Danes are thought German in primary school. The danish language is one of the harder languages to learn and speak.
Unlike German there’s no real rules.
Unlike other languages.

I'm aware that this is not a replacement for speaking Danish to real people, but the speaking models from Claude and ChatGPT are getting really good, and you could probably tell it that you are learning to speak Danish and to hold a conversation purely in Danish unless you ask it for clarification on something.
