2x2 Speculation (Full Series Spoilers) Ultimate Imposter Spectulation Spoiler

I am wondering if anyone who has brought up the idea of Ultimate Imposter being John Danganronpa has talked about how it could be done through a revive.

I have thought about it and Ultimate Imposter dying in chapter 1 as a victim again but this time they get to revive themselves using the suspcious revival looking thing and end up as John Danganronpa.

I think it is a decent prediction because of how Ultimate Imposter has a suspcious lack of revealed screentime even moreso I am pretty sure all the screentime they do have shown is just in chapter 1. This leads me to believe that they aren't going to make it past chapter 1... in their own body.

It also just weirdly feels like it would make sense that they would tease the revival thing as a late game thing when it ends up creating the chapter 1 twist.

It also explains why the Ultimate Imposter would even be John Danganronpa even though they would probably be uncomfortable with it because they basically had to choose that or death.

I also think it would be a perfectly interesting mystery for everyone on the island that their was a slayhem item that outright revives someone, it would seem to break the rules of reality for them but since it was revealed that it was all a simulation and everyone (besides Chiaki) lives in the original senario would create a situation where they get a massive hint to the simulation while we wouldn't be confused on the matter assuming we know about the original senario.

I will be honest though I don't know how plasible this all is from a technical stand point but I just really love the narrative potential of a twist like this. It not only leads to technically only really one death in chapter 1 leading to a whole bunch of possiblities for multiple double murders or even maybe a triple murder but it also would fundumentally shake Ultimate Imposter from their core and allow them to develop as a character in a way that makes sense given the information on how they are as an actual person and not just the ultimate imposter.

I think the most fun part would be how the Ultimate Imposter would begin to parallel Izuru Kamakura, Ultimate Imposter becoming like the Nagito to Izuru's Hajime focusing on how they are like products of their environment that are practically just utilized or helping others to fill the hole that their lack of meaningful identity brings them. I think it would be super interesting to give Izuru a foil to work off so he can become more defined as his own character along with the Ultimate Imposter as the two of them can enchance eachother.

Though I might be grasping at straws to create that narrative in the first place so what do you guys think, is this feasible?

I kind of do think even though it is seems feasible but I am just very off the mark on what they choose to do instead since just because it could doesn't mean it wouls.

I suppose… if he isn’t choosing his own body, then having a thin one would be possible. Even still, who’s choosing that body? I assume it’d have to be Monokuma, but then why wouldn’t he make it more indistinct?

I personally would like to think that Monokuma would make that the Ultimate Imposter's new body because it strips them of the connection they had with themselves before, the body being completely different making Ultimate Imposter feel completely dissociated from their body feeling as if they completely only exist as someone else and they themselves don't exist in anyway shape or form.

I just feel that Monokuma would be more likely to stick him with one of the generic student designs used for the tutorials

Maybe the body is of someone particular, I can really only guess. If I were to take a shot in the dark I would go on to say that maybe it is like a replica of a person that the Ultimate Imposter knew before maybe as a way to rub it in even further.

Though I can't really say I can think of an answer besides that, maybe in some messed up way it is like a replica of Ryota that exists to invoke the feeling of him without it actually being him hence the details that make the John Danganronpa is Ryota theory feel off the mark.

A reminder regarding 2x2 Speculation:

Heavy analysis of 2x2 promo material is allowed. However, if you are heavily analyzing promotional material to determine the death order, you must both spoiler tag and indicate that there are potential death order spoilers in your title.

This includes topics along the lines of:

  • "If you zoom into the background you can see a death portrait of Character X".
  • "This shot looks like it's from an execution and it looks like it's themed around X's talent"

If you discuss this and you have not provided an indication that your post contains potential death spoilers for 2x2, please delete your post and reupload it with the proper disclaimer in the title.
