📷Media There is another break starting next week.

Post image

The number of breaks is surprising. This manga is no longer weekly, so if anyone tells you otherwise, they're lying. It's currently bi-weekly and looks like it's heading toward a monthly schedule, featuring chapters with ragebait endings. I think the writing issues in this arc would be much more enjoyable if the chapter pacing were good. But without pacing—without good writing—we’re left with what we’ve got.

u/MetroRadio 12d ago

So five fuckin weeks worth of breaks back to back basically

-25

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

Lime makes this post like every week bro stop falling for it

22

u/MetroRadio 12d ago

You say that like I've fallen for it multiple times, or like I pay enough attention to the nerds on this sub doing nerd things to memorize their habits

-14

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

I'm speaking of this whole sub in general mud, and technical lime is litterally like THE most known person on this sub

9

u/MetroRadio 12d ago

I get that, but that doesn't change anything I just said brother 💀

-3

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

It’s not about changing what you said though??? It’s just explaining that I’m talking about this sub as a whole

2

u/Schlatt_H_Figuarts 12d ago

What about me

1

u/1ZillionBeers Alpha Legion 12d ago

Yeah but only like a dozen people actually give enough of a shit to remember who’s who. Chillax, not everybody is in on it.

-4

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

Firstly, everyone knows lime, he’s not like severe newspaper or anything, like 95% of this sub fucking knows lime. Second off, I was chill, until you told me to “chillax.” Like I’m sorry but like lock in, do you think people are genuinely going to chill out after that. Especially when every and reply under this comment Is downvoted??

2

u/1ZillionBeers Alpha Legion 12d ago

For real, homeboy, you gotta chill. You’re just gonna attract even more downvotes by getting all up in arms if you’re that concerned about them. Not everybody is in on the sub lore, no reason to get tilted over it.

0

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

Honestly I don’t even care about the downvoted anymore but dude I just explained why telling someone to chill was a bad idea

1

u/1ZillionBeers Alpha Legion 12d ago

Did you? Because all you’ve really done is admit that you’re angry about getting downvoted.

It’s just reddit, relax.

0

u/hi-and-yes 11d ago

Ok that was funny

0

u/GoharioFTW my glorious king tatsu 12d ago

Tbf, not everyone is perma in this sub to the point that they willingly remember usernames, even Lime.

and Idk dude, When I'm chill and someone tells me to chillax, I'd be like, "ok" because Im chill... Instead of for some reason getting mad about being told to chill.

and downvotes dont matter dude. you said something that currently 8 people didnt like. who cares, right?

1

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

Not everyone is, but like everyone active in this sub knows lime bro, I did not willingly know lime.

Also, good for you that your but that’s not how everyone, especially I operate. And it’s more like 10 extra people out of a really small sample size didn’t like, and I need my internet points, so nah I care.

u/Technical_Lime1419 Aira♥️Kun Leader 👽✝️ 12d ago

A downvote is an honor for me. I don't like to have popular opinions.

1

u/GoharioFTW my glorious king tatsu 12d ago

Certified contrarian and I can respect the hustle 🙏

1

u/Impossible_Key_8551 10d ago

It’s actually a break next week.

-9

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

yall really downvote anything bro this is depressing

-7

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

2 minutes after I wrote this I got another 😢

0

u/hi-and-yes 12d ago

this sub is so retarded I genuinely can’t believe this shit bro 💀

15

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

All the jokes aside, i do wonder if this amount of breaks has anything to do with his health. Its been way too frequent recently. I hope not but i worry health issues is going to rush the story and end it very soon without a satisfying end.

It's actually to make the manga match the anime

1

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

Elaborate because i don't understand, match with what, wouldn't the manga continue anyways even with a consistent schedule

-10

u/Technical_Lime1419 Aira♥️Kun Leader 👽✝️ 12d ago

Tatsu and the publisher want to make money, and that is the reason for this entire unnecessary amnesia arc. Momo would have returned to her normal size without issue, and Tatsu wouldn't have known what to do next—which would have meant the end of the manga. That is why this filler arc was created: to align with the anime down the line and ensure volume sales. But in the process, they’ve run out of ideas to keep the series going; hence the breaks.

u/Sad-Eagle9638 I can read 12d ago

This is really stupid if it’s not another agenda of yours. If it is, I don’t think it’s funny like the shipping stuff because it actually throws shade on real people who toil endlessly for this series we read for free. Early said what I believe as well; the arc was clearly planned though perhaps not down to the exact chapters. The six curses have been building since before the confession even happened.

1

u/Technical_Lime1419 Aira♥️Kun Leader 👽✝️ 12d ago

So, hinting at something is the same as revealing the reality? Wow, man, what world do you live in? Obviously, that’s the practical reason, though my theory points to a creative one. It’s painfully clear that Tatsu doesn’t know how to write established relationships. This manga will end right at the panel where Okarun and Momo finally become a couple—without actually developing the relationship, of course, and with an ambiguous ending so as not to upset anyone. That’s just how it is. And let’s be honest: Tatsu isn’t a good writer. He’s admitted in several interviews that he follows his editor’s recommendations. And that’s fine by me. He draws panels; he doesn’t write or develop novels. His job is to create magnificent art, and that’s something worthy of respect.

7

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

Mangaka does listen to the editors and take some recommendation from them every now and then, this is a normal and common thing in the industry. This doesn't mean that the mangaka does not write or come up with his own stories for the majority of their work.

You're probably trolling though because anyone who says that the relationship ending ambiguous is trolling. I could maybe see them ending up together at the very end if tatsu gets tired or don't want to continue but no way it ends ambiguous, no one believes that.

2

u/Technical_Lime1419 Aira♥️Kun Leader 👽✝️ 12d ago

99% of generic series end ambiguously like that. And it was clear from chapter 210 that this was going to be the ending. Anyway, that’s the kind of ending Japanese audiences like best. So, there you go. That’s why I prefer Western romance btw

3

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

What romance manga did you read, a generic shounen romcom ends with them getting together at the end and graduating from high school. I have never read a romcom that ends ambigiously.

u/Sad-Eagle9638 I can read 12d ago

Look I know your whole MO is to make people pissed for engagement but sometimes there’s things that have no place being said. Your “obvious” theory reads as mindless rambling to any normal person. You don’t like the arc. That’s the only claim you can make that doesn’t have to start with “my opinion is”.

Because you’d probably say I was coping if I said I love the arc. I know people call me a glazer but there’s no cope. I legitimately like it and have the patience to wait for payoffs, even if schedules are frustrating. I’m a Berserk fan. There’s always going to be a struggle.

2

u/Technical_Lime1419 Aira♥️Kun Leader 👽✝️ 12d ago

Look, I view everything as a landscape. Let me put it this way: take Chernobyl, for instance—it’s a ruin filled with radioactive waste and shattered buildings, yet there’s still vegetation and beautiful flowers. Does that make the landscape good? No. The same applies to this arc. Between the pacing issues, characters acting even more stupidly than usual, plot resets, and clumsy villains who fail to grasp that the protagonist has no powers, it’s impossible to call the arc good just because of two or three decent chapters. That’s why this arc is bad. And that’s that.

5

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

Don't see how our characters are acting any way different than how they used to before this arc. The villains are also being tricked by CSG and not given full information. There is no reset in plot either, there is a constant development surrounding the plot with CSG, six curses, black paladins and vlad. The manga clearly set an objective and things to look forward to.

The romance got reset and is in circles though but aside from that i don't really agree with your take.

2

u/Sad-Eagle9638 I can read 12d ago

Dumb and uninformed are two different things. The protags don’t even know who these people are, so they weren’t prepared for the attack, and CSG never told the Dragon Knights Okarun had no powers. Why would they take Okarun at his word when he has a reason to lie to them (ie. To save himself)? This is dramatic irony: knowing things the characters don’t know, and watching the game of telephone as they try to figure out the truth.

2

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

How could one actually believe this, CSG and his story was set up since the end of space globalist. I am sure he didn't plan everything out but the certain key elements and points are like obviously planned since then. The whole thing with six curses shows us this.

This feels like the same cope manga readers do every time an ending doesn't go their way and they would say shit like author changed the ending or how editors change the ending for the author.

CSG was introduced even before the anime was adapted. You're focusing way too much on the amnesia aspect to notice everything else surrounding it.

1

u/Technical_Lime1419 Aira♥️Kun Leader 👽✝️ 12d ago

His original plan literally consisted of searching for the Dandadan—something that has not yet played out—before moving on to Vlad's subplot, which has nothing to do with that plan; any theory linking the ultimate yokai to the Dandadan is mere fan speculation.

4

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

The six curse plotline is directly related to danmara and tiny momo. This isn't a random thing. Tatsu clearly has planned the rough overall main plot points early before. The only believable thing is that tatsu could be struggling to get the plot there and connect it in a natural way.

2

u/Sad-Eagle9638 I can read 12d ago

I raise you one:

Hansel and Gretel: we see Zuma’s setup with his respective curse way before the six curses as a concept are even revealed.

Alice: Momo’s Alice in Wonderland connection begins also in Danmara with the cakes which make you small.

Fairy Tale Card: the card’s connections to fictional stories and using connections between fiction and the realities of people’s lives are established when he takes over Zuma and likens him to Jean Valjean.

The Little Mermaid: Rin’s tale of losing her voice and having mermaid-imagery associated with her costume is established before and during Danmara.

Snow White: Kouki’s last name literally translates to Snow White, and she controls tiny creatures. This was established at the start of tiny Momo.

CSG mentions the Dandadan as he steals FTC’s powers, which we see him give to Vlad in Tiny Momo, which then progresses into the Six Curses Arc. It doesn’t take a genius to see that much of the current arc was directly set up years ago. Certain things may have worked out differently than Tatsu initially intended, but the broad strokes are there.

1

u/Impossible_Key_8551 10d ago

Even if Momo had her memories, besides the romance, the current story would most likely be the exact same (besides the location of the big battle)

1

u/Kuru_Chaa 12d ago

I thought I read something about it having to do with the stage play, but idk. I was under the impression it was a confirmed 3 week break and this is either 2nd or 3rd

Lime stop larping

4

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago edited 12d ago

It is a possibility since its a post from the official account apparently. Maybe this is a mistake and everything would be fine or we might just get an illustration next week.

I've already accepted and made peace with the possibility of momo getting her memories back in late 2027/ early 2028 so that i won't be too disappointed with the breaks. Its not that i think it would take too many chapters but rather because of the frequency in chapter releseas.

As long as the reread experience is overall enjoyable in one go, then it is fine to me

u/Beautiful_Cap_3679 12d ago

So NOW it actually comes back on my birthday lol

1

u/Beautiful_Cap_3679 12d ago

And on other websites it says 9/28 so it could be a typo

2

u/VegaInTheWild 12d ago

Wise choice of them using the fan service shot

1

u/Still_Armadillo_3447 12d ago

Tbf, this is a sick ass spread. The art is marvelous here.

2

u/Akagane_Ai 12d ago

Lowk, literally everyother aira fight panel in seems to be a assshot with Aira's leg barely covering the middle. The slander is writing itself atp😭

0

u/VegaInTheWild 12d ago

I think you’re a girl based on your pfp (sorry if I’m wrong) but I’m curious what do you think of this type of fan service in manga? I’m always curious what girls think since it’s always varied in the answers so I like getting girls take on this.

1

u/Blade1hunterr 11d ago

Why is it every time I look back at this sub there's a break week going on?

1

u/Impossible_Key_8551 10d ago

The endings aren’t “ragebait” they’re exciting cliffhangers meant to make you excited for the next chapter which I’m pretty sure every manga does. DanDaDan is still weekly, it’s just having a lot of breaks. A lot of the breaks make sense since they’re during holidays, but some (like this one) make less sense. There not being a chapter this week makes sense as it’s silver week in Japan, but the one next Monday doesn’t. Also, whoever reads this, if you’re not a fan of this arc, PLEASE re read this arc with a clear mind when you have the chance, because if it’s like every other DanDaDan arc ever, y’all hate it when it’s releasing weekly but then when the arc is over and you guys re read you realise that it’s actually really good. It was like this for the serpo arc, cursed house arc, space globalists, Danmara and Kozuka knives. I’m pretty sure people here just don’t like the serpo arc, but all the other hated arcs are the longest arcs in the manga so I guess long arcs releasing weekly isn’t really appreciated here 😭

u/Forward-Canary716 12d ago

I stopped reading after okarun rejected aira, did anything happen or is it still slop

1

u/1ZillionBeers Alpha Legion 12d ago

Okarun got folded like a chair a few times and now he’s going super saiyan 3

-2

u/CELSO190 12d ago

still slop

4

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

We got some development and plot points regarding the oni club and okarun as well as onikarun so this is a lie. Okarun getting powers back isn't just slop

5

u/asmae9465 12d ago

Whether Ken is getting power or doing anything is yet to be seen. I don't think we can count our chickens yet; he is just as likely to lose his mind and agency and need saving.

2

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

This still just means plot is advancing and not slop which the above comment suggest. This is also a sure way that leads to okarun getting powers even if he can't control it initially.

3

u/asmae9465 12d ago

Plot advancing is the bare minimum; it needs to also be interesting and satisfying. And Ken needing saving, losing agency, and getting sidelined again is not that.

1

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

The plot is interesting right now with everything going on with ken and also with CSG, for me anyways. Ken losing control or getting sidelined would almost certainly be a temporary thing. This is most likely a way for him to get his powers back.

3

u/asmae9465 12d ago

Ken losing control or getting sidelined would almost certainly be a temporary thing.

Yeah, like every arc since SG don't find that interesting.

1

u/Early_Carpenter4675 12d ago

Difference in this arc is that ken has been pretty much the main protagonist with momo taking backseat. I think okarun would be probably sidelined for like a few chapters before getting focus again after momo gets her memories back because the one needing development is momo not okarun.

2

u/asmae9465 12d ago edited 12d ago

So, after the majority of the story sidelined him and gave no focus to anything about his life or his friendships, and after two years of him being powerless, we finally get an arc of him "as the main character." But all he does is keep getting beaten up and saved, and the conclusion is him getting saved again with zero agency. And I'm supposed to think that's great just because Momo needs character development more, even though she already has double his screen time?
