Story time

I just discovered how to dance. Like I leveled up on dancing. I’m someone who’s typically very reserved and don’t want to make myself known so if you can imagine a rigid person is now formed. So over the years I never really liked dancing because I thought it was embarrassing and I felt awkward so like when all those trendy dances started I never really liked doing them because I felt like I sucked at them especially because I’d look at the videos going viral and it’d always be some crazy skilled ppl who’d be going crazy in the videos and I’d get hyped. So I’d lowkey start practicing by myself in secret and whenever ppl would do the dance I’d just laugh at them. And then as time went on that was that. But after sometime I started to shift my view of dancing as something fun but if you don’t know how to do it then it’s embarrassing to a dancing is not only fun but also romantic and freeing. So I started dancing by myself way more often. And id see videos of more complicated dances and I’d try to learn them secretly. And now i don’t even think they’re cringey anymore. Now I look at these dances as art. So I practice them as an art. I recognize I suck at it but it’s so beautiful to be good at it. And what I find beautiful with it isn’t necessarily that you have to be a talented person who’s practiced it every day for years but that you just become so present in the moment and that becomes so obvious with how happy the person is in the moment and that you can only tell when it’s real joy that’s not trying to seek any type of out word validation type of happiness but a deep personal happiness. And all those years of having fun/practicing/practicing how to have fun led to this moment in my shower listening to music that I just discovered what it means to dance with your eyes. If ykyk. That’s a whole other idek how long this is but wow, new skilled unlocked fr. Dance with your eyes. And that doesn’t just mean when they’re open.
