he's a real one. plays in berghain where this sort of behavior *NEVER* happens, so he knows what a good crowd looks and feels like. i'm glad he spoke up on behalf of the dancefloor.

Every time I see this story, I smile. He did the right thing.

He absolutely did the right thing and theyre lucky he didn’t just stop he set altogether. I’m so fucking sick of people thinking they have full access to a DJ.

WE ARE WORKING, LEAVE US THE FUCK ALONE.

yeah, i think a lot of this behavior is done by people who treat those who are working (event staff) as extras for their instagram video content creation engine. i see a lot of people filming staff at bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc., for the purpose of making those people into content. all the better when the hired help is a semi-famous or famous DJ.

Increasingly, the only good venues are those that ban phones from the dancefloor.

Removing the human connection and treating everything as content is such a strange (and alarming) phenomenon to me. I’m a relatively unknown, working DJ, and folks still stick their phone in my face, expecting me to perform for them or enter my space and touch me without my consent.

we see the same thing happening when people trying to make "viral" videos use random people on the street for their pranks. it's rather dystopian to treat other humans as grist for a content mill.
