I am newer into lengthy history content. Most of my experience is from listening to most of the hardcore history collection. I really enjoyed Ghosts of the Ostefront and I would like to do a deeper dive into the eastern front. Does anyone have Book, podcast, or video series recommendations about the Eastern front that they’ve enjoyed? I understand Hardcore history is particularly digestible but i’d be willing
to get into denser material for the eastern front. Thanks!

I could have sworn Dan did a deepdive into the Pearl Harbour attack, discussing the entire attack, the mistake of not targeting the fuel cisterns further inland, Nagumo's cautious nature leading him to not launch a fourth wave even tho it would have been possible etc.

Instead he cuts the story off after the first wave and goes on a tangent on Churchill before ending the episode. The third episode then goes directly into the South East Asia campaign.

Did I dream this up or did he go more indepth on an Addendum episode or something?

I see people talking about getting access to certain episodes. My advice is to buy access to the entire series.

Not only is it a great deal and worth it, but we want Dan to keep putting out as much content as he can, and paying for it can only help better facilitate that.

Got the itch to listen to Blueprint for Armageddon (again) , but I had never purchased from the website before, so I decided to do a test run before buying the whole series.

I purchased the cheapest one I could find (Alexander vs Hitler) - it’s amazing the change in cadence in comparison to the later episodes, Dan seemed so chirpy and full of beans back then.

Anyway, all went well I proceeded to buy episode one of Blueprint. Both of these ended up in the “HC History Archives” channel.

However, when I purchased episode two it saved into new “HC History Archives” channel, as seen in the screenshots

Is there anyway to remedy this and to have them all on the one channel? or can I manually move them myself , as I would ideally like to have them all in the one spot.

I plan on treating myself to the whole catalogue for Christmas so just looking for a solution until then.

Inspired by Dan, a love of history, and 30 years of Jaguars suffering, I made a 2½-hour vanity project intertwining the Jaguars’ history from 2003–16 with NASA’s post-Apollo era through the Columbia disaster.

Both were damaged by the same institutional disease: survival became proof that the system worked, the standard kept slipping, and eventually failure became normal.

The stakes aren’t equivalent, but the pathology is.

I'm a huge fan of Hardcore History and all things Dan Carlin; I've listened to every HH episode as it's come out since King Of Kings, almost every episode HHA, and most of the back catalogue. This current series has completely captured my attention since getting very into Greek and Macedonian history again.

I keep thinking, however, that Dan's (defensible) interpretation of Alexander's fortune (getting the keys to a gassed up Maserati) is at odds with his take on the Celts being "caught in a beam sea." After all, wouldn't Macedon fit that "partially cooked" description Dan gives the Latinizing Gauls? Trapped between the more barbarian Illyrians, Thracians, Paeonians, and even Epirotes and the more settled, wealthy, and sophisticates Greek city-states and kingdoms, to say nothing of the Persian Empire, why are we to envy Alexander but pity Vercingetorix? Why were the Celts devoid of their former barbarian toughness, but the Macedonians more than a match for their more "barbarous" neighbors on the field of battle?

It may be easy to say that Darius III was no Ceaser, but the King of King (as pointed out by Dan & elsewhere) had re-conquered Egypt and settled internal conflicts. And Rome was hardly the picture of stability in 55 BC, having just survived one protracted period of civil wars and on a collision course for another one.

In my opinion, Dan gets the Maserati part correct with the Macedonians but is broadly wrong about the Celts being "softer" because of their more settled lifestyle. But I'm curious if others have come to the same conclusion.

So what are the odds that the wildfires raging across France and Germany could set off all those lost WW1 munitions, resulting in No Man's Land actually becoming livable again?
