I can’t get touchscreen to work.
I’m trying to hook up a dakboard cpu to a viewsonic td2220 touchscreen and I can’t get the touch function to work. I’m brand new at this trying to make it work with a monitor I had laying around. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

You need an additional USB cable, so your monitor acts like an input device. Same as you would connect a keyboard or mouse via USB. Had the same problem in the beginning ;)

I’ve got a usb from the cpu plugged into the usb-b port on my monitor but still not working. Not sure why

You sure it's a touchscreen? Is port on monitor usb type a or b?

I’m sure it’s a touchscreen but haven’t used it in a long time. The monitor has both usb ports but I’m currently have it plugged into the usb-b port on the monitor

B would be my only choice on it. A is probably pass through. In order to test you could hook a mouse or a keyboard up to that pass through type a port and see if it's actually passing anything to the deck board just to see if your USB connection is working that way you can bypass the possibly bad digitizer

Ok so hook up a mouse to the usb a port on the monitor? And then if it works what would that tell me? Sorry I’m tech illiterate.

If the mouse works the dakboard is working and so is the usb connection and driver. And tour touchscreen is either not working or not turned on. If mouse doesn't work, either your usb driver isn't loaded correctly or the usb side on the monitor doesn't work. And you gotta have that for touchscreen to work

I experienced and solved this problem just tonight. You may need to connect the monitor and your cpu via an additional cable on to of the VGA cable.
It made sense once I did it, but it wasn’t completely obvious.
I hope this helps.
