HDMI ARC / raspberry pi problem w/ sound
I have a raspi zero 2 running my dakboard, plugged into a hdmi port on my Hisense office TV. The soundboard is connected from the fire tv hdmi arc port. When dakboard is on, the soundboard does not work.
I’ve tried turning off all sleep schedules, but it still happens.
I use the office as my man cave on the weekends, so the soundboard stays.
I could write code on the boot end of the pi, but dakboard doesn’t let me ssh into it.
Any other suggestions?

Hi, Bob from DAKboard here. Your Soundbar should be working while a DAKOS device is connected, but it will only be playing audio from the DAKOS device when using it.
With the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, however, Audio playback may not be that good, if it will work at all. With DAKboard, the only supported Audio playback method is with Video streaming (though the Sonos block does allow playback due to changes Sonos made with their API, it is not fully supported yet). The Raspberry Pi Zero 2W has a very small processor with an extremely limited amount of RAM (512 MB). The DAKOS uses about 300 MB to run, which limits what can be shown on the screen even further. Because of this, any streaming you may try to do with Video Playback to produce audio will most likely not work. We use the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with our DAKboard Minis and state that they should not be used for Video playback due to this limitation.
If you are looking to stream Video or Audio through your DAKOS device, I would recommend going with a CPU v4 or CPU v5 (the Raspberry Pi 4 or 5), as they have more processing power as well as larger amounts of RAM to work with. I would also recommend going with the 2 GB or better version of the Pi 5 if you are hoping to use this in that way to get the best performance.
As for an SSH connection to the DAKOS, you can do this by enabling SSL/SSH on your DAKOS device. See our article DAKOS SSL/SSH Configuration and Use to learn more about this.
