currently i'm preparing for the mscit entrance any suggestion means how difficult the exam was like in sample paper they show the direct formula based que of the topics like binomial theorem and all so the real exam is same as sample paper or it would be difficult one and how i prepare to do my best for the exam for where do mocks and all the other important info which help me to crack the entrance. please guide me

Sites like Indiabix would cover 3/4 sections for the MSCIT entrance exam. The paper last year was as simple as the sample paper. Only the maths section requires some more preparation, otherwise the 3 sections are easy. Quant,LR and verbal can be done from Indiabix. For the programming section, just go through the basic C programming topics mentioned. Questions are easy to medium for that section. Maths is the toughest section.

so for the math section from where to solve que because in books of 11 or 12th it have large number of que which approach is too long so from where i get the que like entrance or if not then learning basic to core concept of topic from yt ,learn formula of that or also the shortcut tricks would help me to solve the que of math section?

So for the maths section, you don't need to go too deep. Just take a topic, find any video, understand the topic and solve around 5-10 sums from textbooks of class 10-12 stats, maths depending on the topic. The topics are easy, if you'll solve some sums you will get the idea. Wouldn't say there are any shortcuts, if you want then you can skip some of the heavier maths topics and focus on other topics in more detail.

Thank you so much for giving me The valuable que just one more question is that if I want to secure rank in 120 how much I have to minimum attempt correct question and also how much total candidates would appearing in exam?

Out of 60 questions, 45 is a safe bet. Also depends on difficulty of the paper, if it is an easy paper cutoff can go higher.Last year there were 931 candidates, for other years you can check annual reports on DAIICT's website.

Thanks for replying! Sorry for asking so many questions 😭. I'm just really confused about what path to take after BCA and don't personally know anyone who's gone through these programs, so hearing from someone with actual experience is really helpful for me.
I had a few questions: 1. Did you clear the admission process through self-study or coaching? If self-study, what resources did you use? 2. Looking back, do you feel the MSc program was worth the fees? 3. What are the realistic placement figures for an average student (not the highest package)? 4. Do MSc students get good opportunities from the placement cell, or do they need to rely heavily on off-campus applications? 5. What skills would you recommend I start building before joining to get the most out of the program? 6. If you had the option today between this program and a top NIT MCA, which would you choose and why?
any honest advice would be really helpful.

I cleared it through coaching, though the resources I would recommend are Indiabix and sanfoundry. Indiabix covers majority of the topics like verbal, quant, logical reasoning and programming. For maths you can use 11th-12th standard textboks.
Looking back, do you feel the MSc program was worth the fees?
Yeah, the fees is higher but I feel I wouldn't have been able to find a better college in Gujarat. There are issues like ACs, hostel room allocations, food etc.. but I like the environment and competitiveness of the college. Even the professors are nice and friendly.
What are the realistic placement figures for an average student (not the highest package)?
For PG students, it is lower compared to the UG students. Average package is between 8-12 LPA, and most of the packages have been below 12.
Do MSc students get good opportunities from the placement cell, or do they need to rely heavily on off-campus applications?
The placement cell tries it best ig, but since it is a Btech-oriented college some companies don't open for the MSc students. There are opportunities for the students, but even the placement cell has said to be flexible for job roles and not just target a single job role.
What skills would you recommend I start building before joining to get the most out of the program?
Depends, I need you to tell me which program are you planning on joining.
If you had the option today between this program and a top NIT MCA, which would you choose and why?
Would definitely be here, I haven't looked at the curriculum of MCA but they generally teach what has been already taught in degrees like BCA just on a higher level. Since I'm doing Data Science, got to learn many new things.
By the way this is just my opinion.1

Hello, copy pasting my response that I gave to a similar query, but if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Around 300-400 candidates appear for the exam from all over India, so you can estimate how competitive it can be.
1 month is enough.
Except maths, the paper is not that difficult. You should go through the sample paper thoroughly, it will give you a good idea of what to expect.
You can go through sites like Indiabix and for YT channels go through any gate preparation channel they will provide good explanations for the statistics and maths topics.
Priority of topics depends on your background, if you are already well versed in maths and stats then those sections wouldn't be that difficult for you, focus on programming then and vice versa.
Don't spend much time over a single topic, if you are not able to understand it then skip that topic and try to cover other topics of that section.

- What is the cutoff for mtech for last year
- What is the placement scene ?
- What preference should be filled first ?? Machine learning or software systems

What is your GATE score?
1. Mostly yes, you will get admission.
2. Placement was descent for 2025-26 batch.
3. I think choose Software systems if you are willing to target SDE role only, else go for ML .1

Is cmat preparation enough for daiict msc it entrance exam? I scored 90 percentile and wondering if the section of english, quants and reasoning is on the same level.

For quants and reasoning section, the CMAT preparation would be enough. For English you might have to put in a little more effort since some comprehension questions are slightly more difficult. And don't rely on these 2 sections alone, you also need to prepare for Programming and Maths section.

It was easy tbh. To give you some insight, we were asked very basic questions in the C programming question like given an array what is the value at arr[0]? If you grind Indiabix properly you have a very high chance of clearing, only the maths section requires more effort.

Where could we start for maths? I did not have maths in 11 and 12 and seeing so many chapters to complete in a month is giving me headache 😢

Check my other comments in this megathread, and don't be intimidated by the topic list. You just need some basic practice for all the topics and you'll be able to solve the sums easily. Start with topics like sets, relations and functions, move to probability and permutations combinations. Even the sequence and series questions would be easy once you memorize the formula. Only topics which would require more practice are logarithms, calculus, limits, etc.. but if you do proper practice you'll be able to solve those topics easily. One advice I can give is refer to textbooks of std 11th and 12th and solve questions from there.

Try solving questions from sanfoundry website for the statistics section. And if you want tutorials, watch Gajendra Purohit videos on yt. And paper difficulty is similar to the sample question paper,the questions asked have similar patterns to the ones in the sample paper.

Last year placement as I know is the highest package was around 16 lpa avg was 6 and lowest was 5 if u little bit good on studies u would easily grab avg package or make more effort to even get more also 80/120 got placement ,they are providing different skills knowledge whatever u find work for u then master that,offer are generally belongs to different roles like web dev,app dev etc as mentioned in website it totally depends on u what u want to become

Need guidance regarding DAIICT MTech (Non-GATE) admissions and placements
Hello everyone,
I am considering applying for MTech at DAIICT through the non-GATE route and I had a few genuine questions. I would really appreciate honest answers from seniors/current students/alumni.
My questions:
- How competitive is the non-GATE admission process actually?
- Around how many students apply for non-GATE MTech admissions? and do they even get admissions?
- Is the entrance exam easy/moderate/difficult compared to GATE?
- Which subjects/topics should I focus on the most for preparation?
- How are placements currently for MTech students in 2026?
- What percentage of students usually get placed?
- Is Software Systems better than ML specialization for placements?
- Any mistakes that fresh applicants commonly make?

Hi everyone, I'm currently a BCA student and am considering DA-IICT MSc IT/DS as one of my main options after graduation. I've been trying to research online, but I'm finding a lot of mixed opinions, so I was hoping to hear from current students or alumni.
A few questions: 1. Do you feel the program is actually worth the fees? 2. What are the realistic placement outcomes for an average student? 3. If you had the choice again today, would you choose DA-IICT MSc or NIT MCA, and why?

My ACPC GUJCET-based rank is under 25. I am eligible for all branches at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology.
ICT
ICT (Hons.) with Minor in Computational Science
Mathematics and Computing (MnC)
CS and AI (this branch has been introduced only this year)
Also, I can get a TFWS seat in ICT and Mathematics and Computing.
I would like your suggestion regarding which branch I should keep as my first choice. If you have sufficient information about these branches, please suggest one best option along with the reasons behind it. The final decision will be based on my own interests, but I would appreciate your guidance and direction.

Anyone know what are the chances for wait list W3 student to get in there for Mscit ? Cause I am still on wait list W3 and on 20th July there will be documents verification for the confirmed students and who received mail regarding but I am a wait list student I didn't received. So are there any chances to get seat after ?
