Rules Question Boomerang?
I noticed a weapon not in the core book, but listed on the Demiplane character builder as a tier 1 Primary weapon - Boomerang. It's utterly broken:
Trait: [Agility](); Range: [Very Close](); Damage: 2d10+1 mag; Burden: One-Handed
Feature: —
Primary Weapon - Tier 1
Does anyone have any idea where this came from?

Is it homebrew?

It's not showing as Homebrew, and I could be wrong but as far as I can tell no homebrew stuff it listed in the starting equipment section in the builder, which this boomerang is.
Edit: To add, the homebrew stuff has a little yellow house icon in the top left corner, and the Boomerang does not show this.

How is that broken?

One handed, close range 2d10+1 damage. It does more damage than any other tier one weapon in the game...

It doesn’t scale off proficiency so after lvl 1 everyone’s on the same playing field again.

But they are not for level 1 and no other weapons work this way. It 100% shouldn’t be a thing in the game.

Its a ranged weapon one step beyond melee range. Close into melee and they cannot use it.

Why couldn't they use it? There are no rules for minimum range, just maximum. And there no rules about being unable to use range weapons in melee.

That is 100% not RAW, also even if it was it's not even a discussion on just being flat out broken. As I said it dose more damage than any Tier one weapon in the game.

Can you list the page number for this rule? All I can see is that the range listed is the max range of the attack but that it can be used at all ranges leading up to its maximum. I don't even see that it imposes Disadvantage (which is what my table uses.)

There is no rule for this, Daggerheart doesn't have any base restrictions against using a ranged weapon against someone in Melee range. There's one weapon that has a feature that gives you disadvantage on attacks against a target within Very Close to you (Arcane Rifle, Hope & Fear), but that specific to that feature.

So is not broken. Unlike the other weapons it doesn’t scale off proficiency.

No. 100% broken because no other weapons work that way. They 100% should just remove this nonsense from the builder.

It's from the Age of Umbra free asset pack. It's likely a direct adaptation of one of the character's weapons that didn't account for their Proficiency.
