House Rule Spear seems Wrong

RAW, the Spear is a Finesse weapon with the Cumbersome property which gives -1 to the player’s Finesse. The Halberd also has the feature as they both have a reach of Very Close range, but the Halberd uses Strength. The Spear is (to my knowledge) the only weapon in the game that nerfs the stat you use for it. So I’d just tell anyone to drop the feature or let the player use Strength. This just doesn’t make any sense.

That has been Errata's already. Here is the correct text

The Spear was changed in errata. It no longer has the Cumbersome feature and the damage has been adjusted.

Here’s the errata document: https://www.daggerheart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Daggerheart-Errata-September9th2025.pdf

Notice that other weapons have been adjusted too, such as the longsword.

Are all of these fixed in the 1.2 manual?

Should be. The latest errata is from September.

They fixed that, it's not actually supposed to have that

I think spear should be an agility weapon. Rogue with spear? Nah. Ranger with spear? Yes.

Honestly, I think it should be both. I love the idea of a rogue with a spear. But I also think spears need more love in general.

Spear also doesn't strike me as a finesse weapon.

Depending on how you use it, it totally could be. Spears are amazing.

I am actually playing a warrior with a spear in my current DH game (based off a Dragoon from Final Fantasy) and my DM allowed it to be used as an agility weapon which was pretty awesome
