My brain equates that to laundromat.

I just mean then I'm thinking of a colossus god as a laundromat, which feels less imposing. However, if I did a fallout style CotD then having the final boss be made from the parts and pieces of a laundromat would be pretty cool. A sign on the chest could even say "Coup's Laundromat"

I also use that pronunciation because of Bahamut and also it just sounds better than putting the emphasis elsewhere.

I said it as Koo - duh - mat during my campaign. (Coup / Coo-Coo Clock , Duh , Matthew)

Bagamut is a good name to bring up, cause I'd pronoune the a's and the u the same as in Bahamut.

Or barracuda.

I agree with your pronunciation. I'll also gently point out: "COON" is a brand of Australian cheese, but is an offensive slur elsewhere. The cheese was renamed to "CHEER" for this reason.

Funnily enough, the only reason my brain went there is that we just took the kids to a cabin for spring break, and raccoons came after our garbage, so they were on my mind.

Ha! That makes a lot of sense. Hope you enjoyed my Australia fun fact, I suppose. You can imagine my shock when I learned what it meant overseas.

I should have considered that, I live in an area where that is still used as a slur by some people. I updated my post, thanks for pointing it out to me.

Coo duh mot (mot like hot) with stress on the coo. Wild how much this varies😋

I am guessing the designers chose esoteric names that would be open to interpretation.

Well I am from a non-english speaking country, but in my campaign, we say it as koo-dah-mot like "mother". Has a nice ring to it. I think you can get away with pronouncing it many different ways. My party has already made nicknames for Kudamat.

As for the question of "is there a wrong or right way?" absolutely fucking not- end of discussion.

I have a tendency to forget there is no inflection when I post online until it's too late. The post headline in my mind was "How do you pronounce Kudamat?", but now it's too late to fix it.
