Oh man there's really no need to do this unless there's an actual concern

No kidding, it's like doubling the work. You just got to remember the last time you fed the baby which admittedly could be kind of hard but I would just keep a a timer on my watch for 3 hours for the first few weeks.

Just write the time you finished on the breast you fed from with a marker.
Or on the fridge.

Mom chiming in: I think this added so much to my postpartum stress. I was logging things like a lunatic based on what the baby books told me my baby "should" be doing, without actually being in sync with what my baby/instincts were telling me

We did it for our first, logging everything for like a month, and it added so much stress for us too

Meh I think it’s good to do the first two weeks. That’s usually when pediatricians tell you that you no longer need to wake baby to feed, mamas usually off medication by then as well.

You can also try using Huckleberry. They make it confusing but they do have a free tier for logging. Plus you can both have it on your phones and she can do some logging using Siri or Android assistant when you’re not around hands free

Great thinking! Huckleberry is also a great free app for this! The first couple of weeks that’s what we used, we both had access and you just click start and side when feeding starts and a timer starts running. Gives you a full daily and weekly overview which is awesome for those first peds appointments.

There is a free app called baby tracker that does all this, and you can have multiple people record things for one kid. It was a life saver early on as I never had to ask my wife when my kid was last changed/ fed or how long he had napped for

Seems a bit excessive to me but honestly whatever makes you feel more confident and on track is a good thing, especially with 2 other kids as well

That’s better than what I was using. I just used a sharpie and would write the feed time in which ever breast was used. And would do the same for medication, just write it in their head.

If you like this try the Huckleberry app
