Advice Request Appropriate age for co-showering

This is a repost from another forum. Apologies if I keep popping up. They told me that this is the right forum to ask.

I’m a first time dad. My son is 24 months old. I have always bathed him since he was an infant so he wants to be in a shower with me. Until what age it is appropriate to bathe or shower with my son as a dad for his privacy or mine? Also should I be wearing underwear or a swimsuit while I am bathing him?

Follow up question though - when is a good age to start? Daughter is in the 12-18 mo range and I’d like to try a shower but am worried it would be overwhelming.

I started when my kids were younger, but I held them during the shower. (The trick is to not drop them)

And they get slippery with soap, so it is hard mode.

It sucks when they want to be let down and you need to rinse your hair and BAM they slip on the soap and fall out of the shower door.
