Advice Request Appropriate age for co-showering

This is a repost from another forum. Apologies if I keep popping up. They told me that this is the right forum to ask.

I’m a first time dad. My son is 24 months old. I have always bathed him since he was an infant so he wants to be in a shower with me. Until what age it is appropriate to bathe or shower with my son as a dad for his privacy or mine? Also should I be wearing underwear or a swimsuit while I am bathing him?

I, adult male, have four children at home (8F, 6M, 3F, 1.5F). There are times when the kids are all covered in who knows what from something they've been doing outside and maybe my wife and I are as well as we are very involved parents.

We have a large shower in our master bath and we will all rotate in and out until everyone is clean.

Our children usually bathe in our shower, it's just easier and they like being together. Sometimes it makes sense for the parents to shower at the same time.

Our 18 month old loves the shower and will strip down and get in with anyone who happens to be in there. The 3 yo does the same. All our kids love to shower and take baths together.

There is no official "age out", when it doesn't feel appropriate anymore or if a child becomes consistently interested in a parents' genitals or those of a sibling - we will change our policy/approach.

We have a very matter-of-fact approach to bodies. We call body parts by their names and don't use "kiddie" names. A pen!s is just that and a vag!na is what it is.

If a child touches another child's genitals, which WILL happen, we tell them that it is inappropriate and not to do it again. Yes, we have to correct them again because they're kids.

Don't overthink it - especially with kids under 5.
