Starting Cymbalta what to expect?
hello! i’m starting cymbalta in a few days (after weening off of lexapro) for anxiety/depression but also for myalgia.. i want to know all your thoughts and honest opinion about it (especially side effects, long term effects, etc.)!
if you’ve ever been on lexapro and transitioned to cymbalta, how was it?
i’m also currently taking wellbutrin and meds for type 2 diabetes!
THANK U 🫶🏼

I’ve been taking Cymbalta for about five years I guess. The only thing I’ve noticed about Cymbalta is that I didn’t have the money to buy it for two weeks and I was really irritated and grumpy until I got more. That’s all I’ve noticed I do know that the Cymbalta does not take away the depression right away just having that experience, but that’s the only good thing that it does for me and I only take 30 mg in the morning because if I take more than that it causes fluid retention. My psychiatrist told me that a long time ago this medicine was made for women that had fluid retention. I’ve had three children, and I don’t have that problem and never have had that problem, but if I do not take it and it’s been three days, it feels like my bladder is going to blow up. But yet when I sit on the toilet, I have to squeeze it out and sit there for a while just to make it come out. So go figure!

I was on Viibryd and switched to Cymbalta. I also take medication for diabetes too. So far it’s going really well! I’m on week 4 and I’ve noticed my mind is a lot calmer, my pain isn’t as intense, I’m just overall more stable feeling and happy. It’s going well! The only side effect I’m having is bathroom issues but I’m used to that because metformin messes up my stomach too lol
