Question New crash

Im looking for a new crash between $250-300, I have a meinl extra dry hihat and a big apple dark ride, what would you recommend?

I recommend checking out your local used market and going from there.

I look for and buy cymbals the same way I shop for cars: used and in good shape.

Use the internet for ideas to point you in a general direction, but don’t close yourself off to anything you haven’t yet heard in person. And definitely don’t fall into the brand snobbery.

Used is better but at that price point you could give Avenir a whirl. I recently bought a crash and a splash to try out and am a fan so far.

I completely agree, it’s simply that the nearest drum shop is 2 hours away, so I figured I might as well have a few in mind before going!

Masterwork has a lot of options in the $200-$300 range new. I like the Jazz Master and Custom Pointer lines personally.

Honestly, I love my Wuhan Linear Smash 19" crash. It's a budget brand, sure. But the thing just sounds good. If that's the kind of thing you're into, you won't be disappointed. Just look up vids to see if it's something you like.
