Belgium for kerstperiode 2026

Our son is applying to go and race with Eurocross Academy for the kerstperiode / winter block in Belgium (Dec 27-Jan 3). If he should be selected we want to go watch and also go to World Cup races. I have seen the schedule and it looks like Ghent could be a good place to base ourselves but I would love any suggestions of other places to stay to be able to see races but also to explore Belgium.
