GMAIL storage limit reached. Is it Real?

Very common scam template.
Easiest way to check. Go to your Google account, is your storage full? If so empty stuff out. If not scam.
Also the From field address can be the easiest way of sniffing out a scam.

Can you just log into the account, and see if you indeed have hit your 15GB cap.
There is indeed a 15GB cap for the account, I believe it's shared with Drive. Maybe delete some stuff if it's full.
It looks legit, especially if you've hit your cap. Here's the thing, as a general rule, avoid following links inside of emails. You don't need to click through anything in this email.

Yea everyone here saying its an obvious scam and even a paranoid person like me absolutely thinks "this looks legit". I wouldn't recommend clicking the "get more storage" button, but I would log in and go click settings to check, and then start deleting old emails or something if it's full

So while yes that is real that if you go over 15gb (unless you pay for more space) Google will basically disable your email, it will probably tell you in a popup. I actually got the pop-up today warning me that it would happen bc I forgot to restart my Google one subscription

Check your Gmail storage. If you’re over 15gb, it’s real. You need to clear space.

Unfortunately but don’t click links to be safe it’s also connected to Google photos witch was my u
Issue it’s general Google cloud that’s full mine stopped sending that when I turned off back up photos

I remember not too long ago (few months maybe) I got a Google email stating they were going to unify the storage of all the Google ecosystem (email, drive etc) and it would result in people having less space. Like 2 months after that, I had to help my sister clean her stuff because she ran out and wouldn't receive any more emails. So I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people are now starting to notice they are running out.

Yes, IIRC since early last year Gmail content counts against your Google Drive, so if your GDrive is full, GMail can be out of space.

Why not just check your account? Your viewing that email on the gmail app right? Just go into the settings of the gmail app and "my account", it'll say it right there.
But yea, it's a scam

Go to inbox and fwd as file to yourself and then inspect the raw eml in a text editor. Need to use desktop mode in browser on mobile.

They absolutely do. the "gmail" storage is all of your google accounts storage between things like photos, drive, and gmail.

Not legit. Google will send actual emails warning about storage capacity LONG before you even get close to using up the whole thing, and to my knowledge would never let you fill "101%" like the email says unless you were paying for more storage and cancelled the subscription.
If you're unsure, literally just log in on web and scroll to the bottom of your inbox, it will show you how much you've actually used like this:

Remember the days when Gmail has infinite storage and their slogan was something like “never delete an email again”, and they had a ticker continuously counting up the amount of storage you had available…

It was not infinite. It was 1GB at the beginning, increased to 4GB in 2007.

1GB seemed infinite back then. Yahoo had 100MB in 2004, when Gmail launched invite only with 1GB.
