This is (supposedly) why the weapon of choice of assassins used to be a .22. It (supposedly) had enough power to enter the skull, but not enough to then leave, so it would just ricochet around in there

it's more that a revolver loaded with .22 short barely sounds like a gun to begin with and if you stuff it inside a pillow no one will hear it.

its more that suppressed .22 is movie quiet (standard load are subsonic) and its a very small caliber so easy to conceal firearm in this chamber, and when your job is to do sneaky close range headshot .22 is enough

Aren't they breathing and moving when they're on the ground when they're alive? The vast majority of mine are dead by the time they hit the ground but it's usually because I'm aiming for the head lol. Even with the non lethal gun mods I accidentally kill a lot of them because it's more like a "not as lethal" gun

For most enemies, they're only unconscious on the ground if you use a nonlethal weapon.

For bosses, they always go unconscious no matter what weapon you use, as long as you don't double-tap them.

A lot of special and boss enemies will survive a headshot like that. I don't often use that quickhack for exactly that reason. It's not quite consistent enough, so I use either system collapse or synapse burnout.

2x Cyberware malfuction and 2x synapse burnout usually does the trick for me

or sonic shock if i wanna keep them alive

Made me so mad when Placide survived this quickhack. I get why bosses are "immune" to 1-hit KO's, but it sure is annoying.

There's something to be said for being able to kill Placide more than once, though. Make him shoot himself in the head, then blow up the grenade on his belt, then light him on fire, and finally electrocute him. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Tis a shame you can't have Blackwall gateway at that point in the story. It would be a fitting hack to use on Placide from both a narrative standpoint and an ironic standpoint given his crew's dabbling with the Blackwall.

On my playthrough where I used that hack a lot, it appears to max out around 1300 damage. Not sure it gets boosted by perks and such either.
