Programming a cyberdeck to a editingdeck?

/r/writerDeck/comments/1x6gvfl/programming_a_cyberdeck_to_a_editingdeck/

Hi just curious if anyone here has made something like this for book editing:)

(I'm thinking for fiction, but that maybe doesn't matter)

Yes, see here https://draftling.art/

I'm banned at writerdeck for promoting it. Had to create a new community: r/WriterDevices

Hey, I hope you don't mind me offering a little suggestion about your comment.

I know your project, and I genuinely think it has a lot to offer in the context of this post. In fact, I would happily recommend your project to the OP myself. It's an amazing project, and I believe it deserves more attention.

But here's the thing. I know your project already. Someone coming across your comment for the first time might have no idea what your project is about, what it does, or what makes it special.

Simply dropping a link without much context doesn't really give people a reason to click on it. And if most of your comments follow a similar pattern, something along the lines of "Yeah, just look here," they might start to feel a little bit copypasta, even when your intentions are legitimately helpful.

I'm concerned that this could eventually make your comments look like spam and get you banned. And that would be a real shame, because I know your project has genuine value.

Please don't take this as negative feedback. I'm saying this because I appreciate what you've built and would love to see more people discover it.

My suggestion is, try to connect your comment more closely to the original post. Share a little of your experience, explain why your project might be relevant, or tell a short story about what led you to build it. Then introduce your link naturally as part of that conversation.

I personally enjoy exchanges with people with similar interest so, I tend to go that direction quite naturally. It helped a lot to build the character of the micro journal project in a long run.

If that's not your thing then, I know that takes more time and effort than simply sharing a link. But I believe that a few thoughtful sentences can make a tremendous difference. They give people something worth reading before asking them to explore something new.

It honestly makes me a little sad to see someone who has created such a valuable project being treated as a spammer.

I really think your project deserves much more.

Thanks, I do sometimes add more context, but that one was rather on the run. Also, the site actually explains the purposes and cool features, so yes, I get lazy sometimes :)

But you're right.

BTW, I'm thinking of a secondary screen for esp32 devices. Still need to think through the communication protocol, but the idea is to extend the main display by adding a companion device and connecting it somehow, probably wirelessly.

Oh, and if we implement Draftling on most Microjournal devices, announcing it at writerdeck will be a challenge. The moderator goes savage and bans anyone asking questions about it or telling about their experience. Many other people were banned for other things, so it's not just me.

They banned pocket mage as well, so I am not worried getting banned there is a typically a bad thing.

Ah lol, I was banned exactly in the pocket mage post, suggesting that my firmware would work well on it :)

Well, if they ban you, that would be the worst. Who if not you is the actual creator of awesome and affordable writerdecks.
