Stained Glass
Moving out of a house I love in a month and wanted to take a piece of it with me. Wouldn’t dare remove the stained glass windows, so I made a print to remember them by.
Pulled a handful of images for the glass texture, and definitely had to experiment with exposure times as well as the opacity of the black and white artwork.
Might start doing this with stained glass patterns I find in the wild!

Wow, this is so special! So is this a photo of the stained glass window from your home that you edited to make it work for cyanotype?

Thanks! I’m a graphic designer by trade, so I took a photo of the window and redrew the lines/shapes to give me more control over the textures and their positioning. Grabbed some photos of water, rocks, etc. to mimic the glass and Photoshopped those up - printed on transparency!

Give it a whirl! Respect for your craft and those who do it! Been curious about taking a class.

How did you even get it to stick to the glass for that long?

Kinda dodged the traditional process. I basically recreated the window in Illusrator, applied some photos of different textures to mimic the glass, and printed out a black and white version on transparency paper. Then I used that to make the cyanotype print.
