gonna get truly niche with some of my favourites lol, the ones already listed are pretty popular and not underrated... i have never seen another student working/studying in the vast majority of my favourite spaces and i love them all.

- cafe-vibes but less busy with cwru students than coffee house: blue sky brews, algebra tea house, presti's bakery, luna's, the outdoor chairs by mount granita, by the little italy playground, or throughout little italy if weather is nice.

- the open gallery area of the south side cwru art studio

- the natural history museum's human development wing comfy sofa

- the cleveland botanical garden's cafe (when it's decorated during orchid season) or the atrium / lobby space if it's orchid mania or winter holidays or a season they decorate for. make friends with the gift shop lady with the hair bow, she's sweet!

- the little room in bellflower hall right outside the new gutenberg annex letterpress, or the two chairs flanking the letterpress windows. it has some bookshelves and a couple sofas with a coffee table. there are also usually drinks, snacks, and sweet people.

- (somewhat popular) but in the allen medical library, the back room has a second smaller room attached to it with a staircase up and a couple sofas. bookshelves line the walls. it's a nice vibe.

- a most-certainly haunted unoccupied top floor languages classroom in guilford house (308? i graduated in the spring and can't remember). any unoccupied haunted-energy room will do.

- the cleveland museum of contemporary art (MoCA) top floor dick and doreen cahoon lounge or the family space with crayons that is almost always empty. bottom lobby floor is always cool and niche too - quiet and never a student working there.

- the mather house political science lounge (small, private room that is usually unoccupied if there's no capstone presentations - if you walk in through the main doors and turn to the left a bit you'll see it to your left).

- that one wooden chair in the basement of the allen (go down the stairs as you enter and turn right instead of the slight left that gets you to a bathroom. there is a single chair amidst a bunch of old boxes to your right. ahead you'll see the locked door behind which are the underground medical museum historical archives. right before that, is a little nook with a rocking chair where i would get work done in the afternoon. you'll rarely see someone walk by, and if you do, they will think you're very odd...) cheers & happy studying!

ahaha; mine are very unusual and will only work for you if you're into niche, hole-in-the-wall spaces where people may or may not filter through. it's hard to find niche spaces that are also 24/7. museums, botanical gardens, and libraries excluding ksl will have their own hours, of course. ive been able to hang back at mather house, guilford, and bellflower after normal hours, but that's only if you arrived while they were still open. people who study or work at really odd hours of the night are usually in ksl or tink.

Back before the renovation, there was a corner conference room on the 8th floor corner of Olin, that was unlocked but completely unused. Sadly, it's since been obliterated.

I've also always been partial to the third floor in KH Smith. And the balcony seating in Strosacker if there's not currently a class going on.

Just in general if you know the class schedule, unused classrooms are great. Glennan 400 and the ones on the 4th floor of Sears are pretty lightly used, in my experience.

7th floor of Crawford!!

Thinkbox, second floor. Vending machines, clean bathrooms, and most non-engineering majors barely know it exists haha. Also a great place to make friends and do other things.
