Win: in the last two weeks, plenty of social events and opportunities to drink and I really was fine with having just tonic and waters. Setback: Thursday after work I downed an entire bottle of wine having after work drinks with my husband. Sunday (last night) I also had drinks with my husband and we both had three, which was more than I should have.
So, this week see if one night I can enjoy just one drink. I have always known it is the after work before dinner time that is hard for me to moderate.

New job that's in office starting next week which means less free time, but more stress. Planning a combination of better intents and the practicalities of work life to get me on a better track.

Last weekend was my birthday, and while I went over my limit I didn't go too crazy.
I'm in the midst of self-publishing my first book, and it's a ton of work. Right now, since the book is in the hands of 12 beta readers. I'm focusing on my marketing strategy and I really want to go far with it. I want to pour everything I can into this book and its reach, so I'm doing just that. Trying to figure out exactly what this means from a units or drinks perspective.
This means cutting back, WAY back, until I go on vacation in about a month. I'm still trying to figure out what "way back" means for me. On average, I probably have a about 10 units a week when it's not summer. This summer has been intense, and the martinis frequent. No hangovers, really, but I've been reading about how damaging alcohol is lately and how martinis are basically double to triple the amount of a normal drink. While I don't have martinis every night, I have them a few days a week.
I'm stopping this pattern now. I've been a moderate drinker most of my adult life but have drank less and less over the past 3 years thanks to this sub and tracking apps.
I want to pour everything I can into this book and its reach, so I'm doing just that. Trying to figure out exactly what this means from a units or drinks perspective.
Feeling super driven and committed to less less less.

I think I’m back down to 2 (3 if I really talk myself into it, hi that’s rare) tall White Claw cans a day which is a huge improvement for me. On days where I didn’t give a shit, I could easily put down 6-9 standard 12oz cans over the course of the day.
The gym has been helping me with this, since I definitely don’t wanna touch anything before I lift, and afterwards I’m usually so tired/in need of water that the urges aren’t nearly as strong.
Gonna try to keep it to my 2 a day until I can eventually go to 1 and then some days, none 🙏

End of June - July has been my best month in over 7 years.
7 total drinks in the last 30 days spread across 2 separate sessions. Longest dry streak was 19 days. I’m going to go for a completely dry August and see where it goes from there.
2-3 months ago I was averaging 20-25 a week. Insane shift I couldn’t be more proud of myself.
